Lose Weight Fast?

I lost 40 pounds pretty quickly. You gotta work hard though. Go to a local gym and work out for 2 hours 3 times a week. I did it on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. It's important to space out work out days cuz you need your muscles to have time to repair itself.I ate whatever I wanted. But 3 meals a day and a healthy nutritional diet would help.

The type of "fix" you're loking for is definitely not in a bottle or other package. To stay thin for the long haul like you said requires lifestyle changes which need discipline. People risj their health when they simply don't eat or buy a "miracle pill" on the market. Sometimes, how you carry yourself might make you more attractive to girls and make you more confident with yourself. I would not advise diets, but that's just me. There are plenty of resourses to use if you are really dedicated. I recommend the book "Body for Life" which shows how to track your food intake and exercise. Never starve yourself!

I would just like to loose all unnecessary fat, I would rather do this in my house doing some kinda exercise's that are free. Any clue what I can do? In the summer I do mountin bike and will run.

i have a abs thingy(that helps you do schruches/sit ups)its really good and you can do it where people cant see you...(im ya own room etc)
-
Yeah, good ol push ups and sit ups, but not the sit ups you might be thinking about. Leg lifs, crunches, bicycles and scissor kicks should do the trick.Push ups, with different hand positionings will tone those manboobs nice and good.Pull ups and chin ups never hurt N E 1. Neither do dips on paralell bars.
-
sorry (man boobs)
-
The gym in my area is free, but if you wanna stay in your room:Push ups, regular crunches, left side crunches, right side crunches, pull ups (chin ups). It would be really good for you to do butterfly presses, but you need dumb bells for that.

Hi iPodUser!! I can appreciate how you feel about your so-called 'man-boobs'. Although that's a term I really don't like - I've got 'them' too - and I've hated 'them' ALL MY LIFE. I'm 40 years old now - and haven't taken my shirt off in public since I was about 8 years old or so. As for losing weight... today is week one for me on the Atkins Diet. I started off at 247 lbs and now weigh 239. My chest has become smaller by 3/4 of an inch. My goal weight is 200 lbs or slightly less. [maybe 197 lbs - just so I can tell myself - "I weigh LESS than 200!!"] It's important to keep in mind - however - that many young guys [like yourself] have puffy chests. That's just one of those things that happen during puberty. Usually - that puffiness goes away as a guy nears the end of his puberty phase. If you feel that you are overweight at 145 lbs - I have to assume that you're not a very tall guy. Is that true? I'm a big 6'3" tall guy - very big shoulders, etc. - so for me - a 200 lbs goal weight it good. How tall are YOU?! Also... I'm a bit concerned about your desire to be 'skinny'. I can appreciate that desire - most people who feel overweight often dream of that. But 'skinny' isn't healthy. Perhaps you should change that word for 'in shape' because THAT should really be your goal. It's important to do your best to have a healthy relationship with food. Many guys become anorexic - and you don't want that to happen. Food is NOT the enemy. Food is good. Food is what keeps us alive and well. So never convince yourself that NOT eating is a good thing - because that's NOT true. Take a look at the Atkins site - if you like - and let me know what you think. Atkins Website Good luck!! GREAT BIG HUGCraig!!

Craig, Im 5'8" and I mean "in shape". Sorry for not explaining that well. I would really love to loose the fat theys, I just want really nice legs. I like wearing non baggy pants, and I need to be in shape for this more.

I just read on MSN that walking a mile burns approximately 80 calories. Thought that was an interesting tid bit.

The average person walke 10,000 steps a day. That's approximately 5 miles. Yes sir, you read correctly. 5 miles. For a male, if you feel like counting calories you should consume 1500-1800 calories/day to lose weight. This will allow about a 1-2 lb(s) weight loss a week. It is slower this way but the weight is also more likely to permanently stay off.
Losing weight is a combination of DIET & EXERCISE. You have to have both to get anywhere. First you have to decide what kind of "diet" is right for you. When most people think diet they think of the grapefruit and bacon, they think of the grapefruit juice diet, and they think of Atkins, etc. And I want to make one thing clear these diets (with the exceptions of Atkins and a FEW others) may work for a short time but your body cannot (scientifically speaking) sustain itself on that kind of crap. Your body needs certain things to survive. Atkins is a lifestyle change. You are slowly changing you eating habits to something different in which you will eventually be able to have the same food but altered so that they can suit your new dietary needs. ONE of the keys to weight loss success is your diet and only you can decide which one is best for you.
The second key is EXERCISE and like I said before you have to have both diet and exercise. A few simple exercises are of course the tried and true push up and sit up. Here's something else for you. After you finish drinking a gallon of milk, save the jug and fill it with sand or water and curl it up like you would executing a bicep curl. You've just made your very own homemade weight. Grap a broom and put it behind your neck and drap your arms over the broomstick. Now twist back and forth while your abs are contracted and you'll be working your obliques. Also if you lay in the floor and act like your peddaling a bike that will get your heart rate up. You can run in place. You can also try talking your parents into buying Tae-Bo if you think they'd go for it. If you need anymore exercises please feel free to contact me via p.m.

Main thing about weight loss is you need a calorie deficit every day. That is you burned more calories than gained. I worked out 3 times a week for 2 hours, ate whatever I wanted. Why? because I still had a calorie deficit from my workout.

What I gave him was BASICS. A lot of people don't exercise either because they don't have the money to afford a gym membership or they don't have the money to buy home gym equipment. You can lower your caloric intake and lose weight. The problem most people find though is that even though they're losing weight they're not replacing the fat with anything so therefore the parts where they're losing fat become rather flabby. You also have to remember that working out for 2 hours a day is NOT in some people's best interest. The most reccomended for any beginner is 2-3 days a week at 30 minutes to start off. The reason is because they're out of shape and you shouldn't exceed your suggested heart rate. It leads to heat exhaustion, dizziness, fainting, etc.
