I went to the doctor!!
-
went to feel your ovaries?
-
no she said ovaries.. she pressed down on my tummy.. and shes like "these are your ovaries.. theyre shaped almost like an egg"
-
well she couldn't have felt your ovaries with her fingers
-
well thats what she said
-
i think it was an exaggeration or an expression...you can't feel a woman's ovaries with your finger...they're way up there, past the cervix
-
she was pushing down on my lower stomach.. but hey shes the doctor she knows what shes doing
-
She felt your ovaries by pushing on your stomach and checked for abnormalities by ... fingering you. Good to hear things are better than expected. Did she give you any antibiotics?
-
Antibiotics for a yeast infection??? I doubt that. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/WOMENSHEALTH/keytogyn2.htmlStep 3. The Bimanual ExamWearing an examination glove, the clinician inserts one or two lubricated fingers into the vagina. The other hand presses down on the lower abdomen. The clinician can then feel the internal organs of the pelvis between the two fingers in the vagina and the fingers on the abdomen. The clinician examines the internal organs with both hands to check for - size, shape, and position of the uterus - an enlarged uterus, which could indicate a pregnancy or fibroids - tenderness or pain, which might indicate infection - swelling of the fallopian tubes - enlarged ovaries, cysts, or tumors The bimanual part of the exam causes a sensation of pressure. You may find it somewhat uncomfortable. Deep breathing through the mouth helps. If you feel pain, tell the clinician.

I thought they gave antibiotics for serious yeast infections? Do they have any oral medications for yeast infections?
-
Yeah, but not antibiotics. Antibiotics can cause yeast infections. There is pill under the name or Diflucan and/or fluconazole I believe.
-
There's a problem of terminology here. The word "antibiotic" can strictly speaking be used for any drug active against any sort of parasitic organism, but in practice the word tends to be reserved for antibacterials. Antibacterials don't usually work against fungi and yeasts, which need different sorts of compounds.
-
I see. The word infection got me because I usually relate antibiotics with infections. What causes yeast infections? It's not bacteria, right?
-
Basically, it is the lack of the right bacteria which keeps the yeast in check. That's why antibiotics can cause yeast infections, the bacteria that is needs to control the yeast is killed off.
-
Well i got prescribed monastat
-
I gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up.
-
Yeast infections are caused by yeasts. You could scrape them off and try using them for making wine or beer (but they're probably a different species). Yeasts are in fact a sort of fungus, and anti-fungal compounds also kill yeasts.
-
All this talk about yeast makes me want beer... not! pretty gross when you think about it that way, huh?
-
Not to drudge this up again, but yes, they are feeling your ovaries when they put a finger or fingers inside you and push on your belly... I have been to at least 4 or 5 different doctors/gynos/clinicians, and every single one have them has explained to me that is what they are doing. They can feel them from the outside to see if they are the right size, etc...

yeayea!! i knew what i was talking about
