ok i found myself at a very loose end and so browsed on the net. I found posts about something called an Emergeny box so i went to look up about it and to me it seems like a great coping skill. Emergancy box So i guess your wondering what the hell an emergency box is.......... Well an emergency box is something you make yourself, out of maybe an old shoe box or something similar. You can decorate it up and make it yours, then inside you put things inside that make you happy, calm you down or dustract you from si ing or ending it all These things could be : A letter or photograph of a loved one or friend A crossword or wordsearch A journal with pens and colors and things Pictures of pets or things that make you happy. Chocolate (it always cheers me up ) A note to yourself A list of reasons not to Si/kill selfYour favourite calming Cd or tape. General activites or things that make you happy or keep you distracted. Another good idea is to tell a member of family or friend that you have it and then they can slip surprises in there for you to find. To put in mine i gonnaask people to email me with a supportive letter and put Emergency box, dont read in the subject line and then i have printed it off Without looking and popped it in there, as a nice surprise for me when i open it. I have filled it with games, paper pens, beads and elastic, just things to take my mind away from Si.
