Popularity?
-
I'm well known at my school, but I don't hang out with the "popular" group. If you ask me, it's the nerds who are going to make it best in life. Most of the "popular" kids around here are just the stuck up people who stick together thinking they have A LOT of friends, but in reality they don't have very many true friends.
-
yeah, you (well not u but uknow) have to have the look and personality i guess.. i don't know. i just wondered cuz ash was tellign me i should see this movie, thirteen, any one see it. she wouldn't tell me about it all she would say is it's about teens wanting to be pauplur and would do anythign to be popular. i don't know y some one would wont to be with a group that didn't really want them. ok.. i probly am not making since.huh

I think the people who think they need popularity are people who aren't popular. They think there missing out on something but being popular isn't a great thing. A few of my best friends were the real popular ones at school and they say it wasn't that great, they felt they had to keep up an act, they felt they had to act a certain way 'n' stuff which they found hard. Even though since then the mate im talking about in particular is one of the best blokes i know. I was in the popular group but i didn't care for the popularity, i was there but i had other groups of friends who wern't considered as popular. Im the kinda person who doesen't really need other people to be happy although i am happy when i am with my buddies, but i sit here writing this message, listening to music at 10 to 1 in the morning perfectly content with my life even though it isn't the most exiting at the moment.
The popularity thing is more a kiddy school thing, once your out on your own in the 'real world' noone cares if u were popular at school or whatever, your taken as who you are. At work i don't feel that anyone is elevated over anyone else, we all get along great, yeh, some don't hang about in our group at work but its there choice but we don't disown them because they don't.
At school its just the way it is, there are leaders and followers, its not a bad thing, some of these people, especially the charismatic of the lot will be sucessful by their popularity, others will pretty much blend into the rest of society, its only once we finish education and finally discover ourselves we finally realise what a lot of nonsence it all is.

Haha. I get what you're saying. Why the hell do you have to prove yourself just to be in the "popular" group? It's a bunch of horse shiznit if you ask me. I had a friend who I considered a best friend for 5 years. I started doing community service repairing computers and all of a sudden I was too much of a nerd to be his friend anymore. This is around the time he got his "popular" girlfriend. I don't think he has any true friends left except his girlfriend. And he even told me I was dragging our other friend along with me and that "he has the potential" to be something better. Well guess what! I'm a network tech, my friend with the unused "potential" works for the submarine base, and he's still stuck in the high school world where "popularity" is everything and not doing anything for the real world where he's going to end up.

horse shiznit , lol i hate shoveling horse shit
-
I hate shoveling any shiznit.
-
Because you're more caring than them?
-
most of the popular kids at my school are gonna be fucked for the future... i was at party with last weekend and they were all on E and doing coke... so popularity really isn't to great
-
no dude i'm serouis. lol i have to clean out horse stalls on sat mornings b4 i can do anything. lol it's part of my chores
-
Take it from a college sophomore...popularity will be the least of your worries later in life or at college. Half the popular peeps aren't even in school anymore or pregnant or DEAD. Yes, my senior year, our homecoming queen got preg and then went out and partied and ended up miscarrying. The county tried her for manslaughter and now shes doing 20 mos.Another girl, homecoming queen runner up, my 8th grade year delivered a baby at prom and THREW IT IN THE MOTHER F*CKING TRASH CAN. She was tried for manslaughter and now lives a charmed life working nights ath the South side 7-11 on the bad side of town. It's definately not the most important thing, not even close.

People know my name.. But out in the hall ways.. they no longer no me.. No wonder im sucidal.. So nope.. Im not popular.. I'm a loner
-
I sympathize with your horse shiznit chores. lol. I have to laugh when I say that.
Anyways, "popularity" is horse shiznit! Heheh. It blows harder than having to get up and scrape horse shiznit every morning. Most of the "popular" group will feel like they've been hit by a train when they get out in the real world. I think feeling a need to be in the "popular" group is an illusion. An illusion of a world you feel like you need to be in that doesn't resemble the real world.
-
i'm a loner too. but i don't mind it. i was never populer , lol I am now lol i'm the only one in my class of CR's school. lol
-
I live on campus and everyone cares about everyone, even if they really don't like you. College somehow unites everyone into a giant community. It's great!!!
-
interesting college you go to. No one really cares at my college.
-
Where, if you don't mind me asking?
-
A community college in southeast GA.
-
Ohhh. I go to the smallest, major university in Texas...if that makes sense.
-
In my school its not as typical as ussually explained or maybe it is and I just dont notice. I'm no where near popular I got a few friends in school by my friends i actually hang out with and stuff aren't there. Sometimes it seems like a double life since sometimes people will be like "sure yea of course you have other friends" in a sarcastic matter. I'm just myself and I got my own thing going on. Of course there is the jock group and the basics but they don't seem as well defined at most people would say.
