Sex Offenders
-
-
says a lot about parenting.
-
LMAO!
-
I don't know about you guys.... er people since there are women present ... but I used to watch porn and look at porn mags since I was about 7. I hate sex offenders.
-
It's a much-argued issue, but there doesn't seem to be much evidence that porn provokes sex offences. The little evidence I've heard of (e.g. the number of rapes in Denmark dropped sharply when porn was legalised) seems to point in the other direction, that porn can provide an alternative outlet.
-
In reply to: I hate sex offenders. Me too!
-
Don't think many people like sex offenders/peadophiles etc.Do what the Neatherlands have, legalise all sex ie porn, prostitutes etc, over there they look at porn in a different way and the whores get checked every few months, the country has 1 of the lowest sex offenses in the world.
-
Hard to say what will make a country better or worse. There are pros and cons to everything. I think there are more cons for a place like the US to legalize all that stuff.
-
no, they should get in jail for life. not a slap on the wrist or a couple of years. it's not fair. they don't get much of anything and they fucked up a kids life :frowning:

In reply to: no, they should get in jail for life. not a slap on the wrist or a couple of years. it's not fair. they don't get much of anything and they fucked up a kids life I had a long post explaining why this might be the dumbest thing you've ever said, but I decided not to post it.
-
WHY DO LIKE FUCKING PICKING ON ME???????get a fucking life and leave me the hell alone!!!!!!
-
Well said CR!
-
i agree with CR, jail for LIFE.
-
heheheh, sex offenders don't last in prison a lot of times. They get shanked.
-
You know, we could post about how ignorant you are but instead here's some food for thought:1) There are approximately 234,000 offenders that have been convicted of rape or sexual assault. 4,300 of these are made up of child molesters. 60% of these sex offenders are under conditional supervision and living in communities (probably some in your neighborhood).2) The median age of age of the victims these people sexually assaulted was less than 13 years of age. The median age of rape victims was about 22 years of age.3) It's estimated that 24% of those serving time for rape and 19% of those serving time for sexual assualt had been on probation or parole at the time of the offense.4) Of the 9,691 offenders released from prisons, 5.3% are rearrested for a new sex crime within 3 years.5) Of released sex offenders who allegedly commit another sex crime, 40% perpetrated the new offense within a year or less from the prison discharge. And that's not all, very few of these offenders serve the full time in jail. They serve maybe 3 years on a 15-20 years sentence. Sorry, these people should have body parts cut off or they should be put in front of a firing squad. I for one know that if one of those bastards touched my children, they would cease to finish their final breath before they got one right between the eyes.Oh and leave the little man alone. He hasn't done anything to you. Go catch a chicken with your teeth if you're that bored.Oh and CR125 - Way to take up for yourself! I'm very proud of you!

This is an area that treads on a lot of emotions, and, for some people, very bad memories. But I have to say that I don't like treating sex offenders as a completely different class to other offenders. There are plenty of ways that people can ruin others' lives without sex. The re-offence rate for burglary and assault (and, indeed, for offences in general) is higher than for sex offences. I think there needs to be an examination of the system of crime and punishment in general; and, in my opinion, the concept of victim's revenge, though understandable, is not the proper basis for it.If we were all punished with perfect justice for every bad thing we've done, we wouldn't spend much time out of jail. Mercy is an important concept too, even when it's difficult.
-
Most treat it differently because there is more emotional trauma to the victim. How do we feel about the idea of "marking" these offenders? Making them register where they live, etc.
-
I'd like to know if a sex offender was moving into the house next to me and what the charge was. I'd like to know if the person moving in next to me had any serious criminal charges.
-
You're right. Mercy is an important concept that I still as of yet have a lot to learn about. I do not forgive readily or easily and my problem is because, I WAS raped at a very young age. I didn't do anything to help myself because I was too scared. I don't want my kids to feel like they have to go through that. I want my children to know they can come to me no matter what. I find it completely ridiculous that ANY offender of ANY sort gets parole when only serving 3-4 years of a sentence. It's non-sense.And as far as sex offenders registering: yes. I want to know if there is a sex offender living in my neighborhood. Especially if I have children. When I was about 10 years old we had a child molester living just down the street from us. My sister, brother, and I were not allowed to play outside without adult supervision at ALL times.
