Question about how to loose weight
-
Start working out 3 times a week for a certain amount of time in combination with your treadmill runs which serve as cardio workout. I guarantee, even if you don't lose weight, you're still losing fat. The muscle mass compensates for the fat loss a lot of times.
-
You also have to take into account the Law of Diminishing Returns. That is, you may lose alot at first, but then you lose less ans less, unless you up your program or w/e.
-
hmmm... I'm not so sure about that. As long as you have a calorie deficit at the end of the day you should lose weight unless muscle mass compensates for it. Working out should also increase metabolism which should help you lose some fat.Law of Diminishing Returns? Sounds like Law of Diminishing Utility used in Economics and Market Structure.
-
There is a LODR in Econ. as production rises, price diminishes...Supply and Demand...Supply up, demand down...vice-versa.
-
lol. I knew it. Although, I'm not sure the same laws of market can be applied to the human body all the time.Law of diminishing utility - i.e. you haven't had sex for a long time, so when you do it's really good. The first slice of pizza you eat, satisfaction is high, yet every slice you eat the less satisfaction you get out of it.

My weight trianing/nutrtion class applies that the more you work out the more weight you add...right??? Your body gets used to something and you have to change it.The Atkins Diet only works for 3 months then you have to up the program!!! There you go.
-
Hmm, that's a first for me. My body didn't get used to anything.
-
The atkins probably isn't very healthy anyway it just helps you lose weight it brings your cholesteral up
-
Right. It will eventually send to body into shock if for too long and too much. Learned why chemically it is bad in Chem the other day.

In regards to the cholestorol comment, you need to understand that there are two types of cholestorol. Good cholestorol (HDL or high density lipoprotein) and bad cholestorol (LDL or low density lipoprotein). Most people do not have enough HDL which is responsible for removing LDL and therefore their levels of LDL is high and their arteries become blocked. And in response to Atkins making your cholestorol high, I find it just the opposite. I am on the Atkins program and recently went to my doctor for a physical and I requested that he check my levels of cholestorol. My levels of LDL cholestorol have actually dropped by about 5 points. My HDL has actually risen about 2 points.
