So this starts a couple years ago when I first got my period, and I really wanted to tell my mom, and I had planned on it that first day, and then I just couldn't get the courage to make myself tell her. So now 2 years later I'm still living my private life, not telling my family anything that goes on in my life. I'd really like to be able to be open with someone here, especially my mom because I know I'd be a lot more comfortable. Also, me and my boyfriend recently started having sex. I'd been thinking about wanting the pill for a while anyway so I could at least know when it's going on, but now I'd like it for more ease with my boyfriend lol. Ok then one more thing, I had a pair of bloody panties under my dresser from the first time I got it, and I was just hiding it, who knows why I didn't just throw it away. So recently my mom was in my room I guess, cus under my dresser was clean, and my new clean, formerly bloody panties were sitting on my bed. So I assume she knows because I've also found pads and stuff in my room that she's given me, I just wish she would talk to me about it, so I wouldn't have to apporach her...So now the questions:I was wondering if there was a way to get some form of birth control without parental consent, I'm under 18. And what the cost would be, or what different options I have for that type of thing.Or if anyone could give me suggestions on how to talk to my mom about it. Keeping in mind I don't talk to her about ANYTHING like this, and we don't always get along the greatest so me just going up to her and saying "Mom, I got my period, and I think the pill would be a cool idea!" lol. That's probably part of the reason she hasn't said anything to me about it, cus I'm so private. And has anyone tried the continuous birth control pill? Where it's just like the normal package, but you just get a bunch and you keep taking it all through the month so you're skipping your periods. Cus man, periods suck.

Me, my mom, and the pill

Not having your period at all is not good. Even with the new pill where you skip the monthly period, you will still get it 3-4 times a year.

This is just my opinion...but if you can't tell your mom that you've had your period, i seriously doubt you're mature enough to have sex. Birth control isn't 100% effective...telling your mom you're pregnant would be a hell of lot harder than telling her you've had your period.

Planned Parenthood clinics and clinics at the Health Department offer counseling and birth control options. You can be under eighteen, and they, by law, cannot contact your parents.

I get depo shots and have gone for years without a period. And the doctor knows about it and says it's not only fine but it's common with the shots.
No periods kick a$$. But anytime you aren't having a period you need to talk to a doctor about it.
As for your mom, I don't know what to tell you. I'm sure she'll figure it out, if the pads are missing someone is using them. lol
I would hold out on the sex. Does complicate life greatly and changes the nature of every relationship you'll have in the future. jmo -
lol, I would be paranoid that I was pregnant all the time if I never had periods... periods on birth control pills are much lighter and shorter and lots more comfortable as far as cramps, etc. I actually feel relieved when I get my period each month... but I'm crazy so hey... lol

lol I'm old and have kids so another one wouldn't be the end of the world.
