Ok, i've tried to put this a easily as possible lol Does/Has anyone here been in a situation where you have asked someone out and they said "no" then you become really good mates with that person, and they said that they want to be "just friends", BUT they flirt with you a lot, and they say things to you.. The way they say it kinda gives off the impression of perhaps 'more than friendship'....I was just wondering... Cos i'm kinda in that situation, i'm getting these vibes...Any posts appreciated!

Just Friends

I saw this post from a google search and I just had to register here and respond.
Yes, I've been in that situation in the past... I was under the impression that they somehow got to know me better and had changed their mind... so I went for it. I got a nice big juicy "no"... then things went weird with the friendship - she felt weird because I still had those feelings for her. She then stopped responding my phone calls. About a year went by until we became the good friends we once were.
Yes, I'm still quite fond of her, but I'm not going to make that dumb move again. No means no... for my case anyways. Not all people are the same though, so your case might turn up differently.

Fully agreed. This is what I have just been through.
About 2 years ago I was very close friends with a girl, and she'd flirt like crazy and stuff. Eventually I fell in love with her and it was killing me so I told her, and she stopped talking to me.
About a month ago we started talking again, and all my feelings came back. She again started flirting, but this time much more extreme. She kissed me, and rubbed me etc :scream_cat:
I asked her out and she didn't reject me this time, but she said she needed to think about it.
2 days ago she said she never had any intention of going out with me, and was just leading me on.My advice: don't do it.
My better advice: stay well away from her cos she sounds manipulative. -
Just move on! Don't play her game and live your own life. I did the same game for seven years! I feel like such an idiot! She would pull me in and ,later, push me away again. I feel sooo stupid that I didn't wise up sooner. I'm now married and that bitch is STILL calling my aged parents, asking about me, 30 some odd years later! She's still playing the game but I refuse the contact. THERE "IS" EVIL OUT THERE!

The thing is a much as I like her, fancy her or whatever, she is still my best friend. And I can’t just ignore my best friend I dunno, it makes me worse. Also it made her really upset because she really likes me as a mate, just that I’m hurting everyday because of this, that’s why I’m left with a problem. It’s been like this for ages, and it really does get to me, sometimes worse than others.I feel stupid to, but no matter how hard I try to get over her, I just can’t…

I have a very similar problem, I actually first came to this website to discuss it and ask for help.
My previous postIt went a bit weird for me though. I seriously doubt that I'm a good person for giving advice, but I think you should talk to her about it. Don't just go up to and say, "Whats the dealio?" Just slip it into the conversation.
Good Luck

Nah I don't have the guts to say that to her.. Because, I kinda like it, her flirting with me and stuff - if you get me... just it hurts me at the same time :scream_cat: kinda confusing.. oh what do i do?? :frowning: I don't want to lose her altogether.

Ok... Well I was wrong, it appears that this girl told me just a few seconds ago that she fancies me OH MY GOD... Well I suppose it goes to show that somethings can work out afterall... I'm speechless just I really hope things work out for everyone, I know that everyone here has been through alot. Thanks
