Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Can someone please help me. Should I go to the ER or wait for my appointment in a week. The bleeding is pretty heavy now.
-
Call your doctor up and see what she/he recommends...whether you should go to the ER or wait a week.
-
I did call her and she hasn't called back. She may not call back for another couple of days. Now what?
-
How much blood is it and how long has it been going on..a week a couple of days? You can't talk to a nurse? Normally if you can't get a doctor on the phone you can talk to a nurse.
-
Call again and be persistent.
-
The first time I was bleeding for two months. This time it has been for two weeks. I go through one super tampon in only two hours. When I go to the bathroom, the blood pours out.
-
I did ask for the adivce nurse and they are not in till tonight.
-
what kind of doctors office do you go to? nurses should be there to answer questions all of the time
-
Its a county doctor. She told me to track my peroids for 6 months then get back to her. However the bleeding onlu stopped for a week then started again. And I have some pain.
-
I might wait until next week. It sounds like you're just having irregular heavy periods, which can be common nowadays. If you feel you need to go to the ER then go though. We're not doctor's on here, so we really can't diagnose a problem or tell you what you should do.
-
Im sure thats what it is. But waking up in the middle of the night to change my tampon doesn't seem normal to me. I have never had this problem before.
-
Well menstrual cycles change throughout your life, especially after having a baby.
-
You're right. I guess im just getting annoyed with the bleeding. Im sick of it.
-
Bleeding that much sounds excessive and lasting too long. Although, I have no experience with pregnant or post pregnant women.
-
Well yeah it's not exactly normal, but it doesn't always mean life threatening either. A lot of times it can be hormonal related.
-
My doctor said it is not because of my hormones. My hormone level is perfect. Right now they don't know what is causing it. And they don't seem to be willing to help me.
-
Hormone levels can be perfect when tested at the regular doctor's office. Sometimes you need to see a specialist...an endocronologist. Have you have a transvaginal exam or an ultrasound done recently? If you don't like what one doctor has to say or is doing, then find another.
-
I had a pelvic exam but no ultrasound. They said because my blood work came back ok then that means im ok.
-
Blood work can miss a lot. You need to have an ultrasound and transvaginal exam done. A transvaginal exam is different than a regular pelvic exam. That can pick up any cysts or abnormalties that can cause excessive bleeding.
