im trying to lose a little weight, doing a little exercising when possible, but mostly just not eat anymore fatty foods (or at least attempt to), especially as a snackso I'm wondering if I should eat peanut butter sandwich as a snack because thats the most healthy thing I can think of that I would actually enjoy eating

Is a peanut butter sandwich a healthy snack or no?

Remember that most nuts average about 50% fat. It is a good kind of fat however. If you enjoy nuts, I'd opt for fresh nuts. Peanut butter is processed food. A handful of nuts would do as a nice and healthy snack. Or, a small tub of yoghurt with some chopped nuts added in.

Well almost anything can be healthy, but in moderation. Peanut butter is very good because nuts are good for you, just dont eat to much of it otherwise it wont be so good for you.....does that make sense?

You can get organic peanut butter, or have it ground at the store. Then it's nothing but peanuts. In PB in the jar, they usually add salt and something to keep the oil from separating. Probably not a major health issue unless you eat a lot of it. But for that reason, my very active friend buys organic. You just have to stir it before using it.Peanut butter has a lot of protein, but also a lot of calories....everything in moderation.

If your trying to lose weight, the last thing you want to do is mix fat and carbs together, so bread and peanut butter are not a good snack foodMaybe eat some fruit or a veggie in place of that.

You need to pay attention to caloric intake. If you consume more caloreies than you burn, you'll gain weight. If carbs were such a big deal, the Chinese would have a major obesitiy problem. Hasn't the low carb craze already run its course? Plus peanut oil is not bad for the health, but it has a lot of calores. But I agree with the fruit and vegetable idea. Good nutrients and fiber, and if you eat the right veggies, you'll get protein as well.
