Wow, I've been into genealogy for a long time. I've found out alot about my family and where they came from on my Dad's side. It's very interesting. My Dad's side of the family originally came from the Palatinate area of Germany. I have a cousin that has traced our family tree all the way back to 1595, and she is writing a book on our ancestors. I don't know every much about my Mum's side of the family, but I believe they came from Ireland or Scotland (not for sure yet, I'm just starting my research on her side). It's a lot of fun.

Me - CanadaDad's side:Great Grandma #1 - Norway (some German and maybe some Russian?)Great Grandpa #1 - NorwayGreat Grandma/Grandpa #2 - England (some German?)Mom's side:Great Grandma/Grandpa #3/4 - Mostly NorwegianSo I'm Norwegian with some German and English background. All of my ancestors were early settlers that came to settle in the prairies (more specifically, Alberta). On my dad's side, some of his side of the family settled in North Dakota, but moved to Alberta.

My mom's side I don't know about...she was adopted. My dad's side is all German. We too have a family tree book that dates back to 1520.
