Hi guys, lastnight I shaved down there for the first time in a long time. The reason I don't shave usually is because I get horrible razor burn, but lastnight I got sick of having it just trimmed (I feel better shaved) but the razorburn struck again. Is there anyway to get rid of it? Also, should I shave over it? Do I wait until its gone? Will I stop getting it after shaving a few times?

Yea i answered to this question in the male genetalia forum on shaving down there to so maybe it can help uz women. See when i shave my face it used to get really irratated and i would get burns, bumps, u name it i got it. so my dermatologist said to try aveeno. its for sensitive skin. after that i cant use nething else cuz the other stuff is irritating to my skin. O and by the way aveeno is a shaving gel and this sounds alot like an infomercial, but trust me i dont work for aveeno nor do i get a penny for recommending it on here TWICE(in case they r listening). But yea try aveeno, i havent heard ne complaints from the guys yet

No, I shave in the shower, and I used colgate shaving cream. I want to get more skintimate shaving cream because that works great on my legs. The razor wasn't brand new, (I use the Venus for girls) it's about 3 weeks old.. (thats probably where I went wrong, huh?) I just thought because it wasn't dull it wouldn't hurt my skin. Anyway, I'll try the aveeno shaving cream next time. Right now I'm a bit afraid to shave. Anyway thanks guys for your advice, but is there anyway to get rid of razroburn fast? How long does a girl usually have it?

I've always found it best to shave in the bathtub...you let the skin soak more. Always use a new razor, with a dull razor you're more likely to nick yourself and give yourself razor burn.

Like shave under water?
-
no, but soaking for a few minutes in the tub can better prepare the skin

yeah, let your skin soak for a while before you start shaving, wash your hair first or something. also, i sometimes find it better to shave with like body wash because it makes the razor glide easier, but if you use shaving cream, put it on, then wait about 20 seconds and then start shaving. theres some chemical in shaving cream that lifts the hair up easier if u leave it on. Right after you get out of the shower, rub lotion where you shaved, i usually like to use baby lotion. hay if its gentle enough for a baby, its awesome for us! hope this helps

adding to my trimming problem... i told yall that i got razor burn when i would trim myself... but i tried that sh*t where you put the cream on, wait and scrape it away. it worked and smelled like burnt hair, but got the same result. it looks like razor burn, but no razor. i shower and all.. but whats wrong? is my skin to sensative?-tap

I hope you're not using harsh chemicals like that near sensitive areas (like the vagina).

the reality of razor burn is ingrown hair. It often has little to do with the way the hair is removed. If the hair is taken down to, or below the skin surface, there is a chance that it could begin to grow slightly under the surface layer of skin, causing irritation.
