That's such a dim-witted thing to say. Have you done or seen research on this, or is it just (as I suspect) provincial bullsh*t?

If I get a promotion at work, my next project will be fixing up a 300zx. I see a few around town and I think they look sweet. I like the 350z's as well, but I still like the 300zx better.
naw! Americans can't drive! niether can Asians, IndoCanadians, wasps, South Africans, Catholics, the French, Jews, KKK members, Fags, guys with moustaches, girls with moustaches, polliticians, retards, Prince Renier, Jeffy from up the road, Muslims, my sister, people with lithps. Basically, everyone but me!
Sorry, I had you confused with Jeffry from up the road.
People in Miami by and large don't drive very well. The car insurance rates are one objective measure. Traffic fatality rates are another. As are pedestrian fatality rates.
insurance companies should burn, burn , burn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In reply to:Most Americans don't know how to drive... from what my american friend says, i believe you.my friend grew up here (australia) from age 11-18, learnt how to drive, got australian license etc (then went to america).she says the american system is a joke and ANYONE can get their license.to pass the australian tests (many of them) you actually have to practice parks / turns etc. you can fail very easily and most ppl tend to fail. apparntly obtaining a license is extremly simple and no one knows how to park properly.also its apparntly illegal (invasion of privacy) for police to breath test in america? and consequently most college students (according to my friend) have no problems with driving under the influence?thats just scary.here, for the first 3 years of your license, you can have basically NO alcohol and will loose it if you're caught (with breath testers, -just last night i saw 2 different police groups using them).maybe those rules / laws are only for the state of kansas... but i'm not sure. i think that system is pathetic and it would be responsible for the unskilled and dangerous drivers
In reply to: also its apparntly illegal (invasion of privacy) for police to breath test in america? That varies from state to state. Here in Virginia, if you refuse to take a breathalizer test, he can take your license away from you, on the spot.
In reply to:here, for the first 3 years of your license, you can have basically NO alcohol and will loose it if you're caught (with breath testers, -just last night i saw 2 different police groups using them). This kind of thing is true in a lot of states. I believe that in Massachusetts, any alcohol conviction if you're below a certian age results in loss of license. That includes things like buying beer with a fake ID.You need to understand that in the U.S., the 50 states are like 50 countries with regard to almost all driving laws (and lots of other laws). The Breathalyzer test is legal everywhere in the U.S., as far as I know. In fact, in Utah, police are getting phlebotomy certifications, so that when they pull you over, they can legally draw blood and test it. The police then won't have to take you to the lab for the test. And it should be pretty accurate.I'm going to bring my American drivers license to you country and rent a car. Since you guys drive on the wrong side of the road, I should have the traffic in the Outback tied up in no time.
well thats good to hear it seems to be my friends wierd state of kansas thenhopefully the way you get your license is more strict too! In reply to: traffic in the Outback now there's an oxymoron and a half
Laws vary, but not by much. Your friend makes it seem as if we get in a car drive in a straight line and get a license. We have to park, turn, merge, signal, etc. WTF?........ My friend once told me that in Australia kangaroos walk up and down the street and when you come outside your house they come and punch you in the face.
Yes, but I don't think a kangaroo can get a drivers license.Cool, your friend may have been exaggerating a bit. In Florida I had to do all that stuff, including parallel parking.
I had to park, turn, merge, signal, parallel park, and all of that other fun stuff you have to learn before you can get your drivers license. My driving partner failed (I had to have a partner because I was taking drivers ed through my school) because he couldn't parallel park. He had to retake the driving test before he could get his drivers license. It's really not that easy to get them. I mean you have to pass a writen test, an eye test, and a driving test, and if you fail them you can't get a drivers license in Texas (or anywhere else that I know of). I myself failed the eye test I had to take to renew my drivers license last year, so I had to go and get glasses and retake the test before they would renew them for me.
I got my license by doing 4 right turns and a diagnol park! lol. But I did take drivers ed.
In reply to: Yes, but I don't think a kangaroo can get a drivers license. You mean you didn't hear? In the US its so easy to get a drivers license, they even let some animals take the drivers test.
Well, Toonces the cat could drive a car. Just not very well.
friend said all she had to do was drive around the block. no parking, and as a result, there are alot of people who cannot park properlyME_MYSELF_AND_I, if you want to carry on like that... you do that.
In reply to: ME_MYSELF_AND_I, if you want to carry on like that... you do that. Thanks, I was hoping I would receive your permission. Dont get sand in your panties, it was a joke.
I just think that until you yourself have driven in the United States, you shouldn't cast judgment on American drivers.
I would think we have pretty good driving schools and tests, which is why some countries honor state-side driving licenses. I think the problem, some know how to drive so when they take their tests, it's "by the book", once that plastic is in their hands, they relax a bit when it comes to driving "by the book".
In reply to: to pass the australian tests (many of them) you actually have to practice parks / turns etc. you can fail very easily and most ppl tend to fail. We have to do that here in canada.. we have to downhill park, uphill park, parellel park, back into a parking space.. everything.. most people fail.. i failed the first time!
