I am 42 female and I have had a leison under my right ear lobe since November I was scaly, red, tender bleed easily when gently scratched I went to the E.R. and 2 doctors said it was pre cancerous but could not be sure if it was skin cancer with out a biopsy ( they don't do biopsies in the E.R.. They referred me to a dermetology clinic in Jan. The Dr. there said it was a staph infection, without doing a biopsy. He put me on Kflex it got a little better then came back now it has very fine hairs growing out of it. I felt the Dr. at the clinic didn't care. I was and still scared. I don't have any ins and I feel if I had ins they would have done a biopsy. Does any skin cancers have hair? this was not a ingrown hair. and I have never had hair under my ear. any suggestions?

I have no I idea what it could be. I would go back to that doctor. Sometimes you have to be a bit pushy and insist that they do more tests. I had to threaten my insurance with a lawsuit before they gave in to having an MRI on my neck. What did we find? A ruptured disk. They originally wanted me to do therapy and a bunch of other crap. It's your health so you sometimes have to stick up for yourself.

derotology website This site should help you find out what it is. I think you should go get a second opinion if you do not feel comfortable with the one you recieved.
