Hi my girlfriend and i have been going out for almost a year now and we've had vaginal sex but today she wanted to give me oral sex. First I wasn't sure if I should let her or not but I decided she could. It was her first time that she's ever given oral sex and it was my first time recieving oral sex. now my question is... what are the chances of her getting some sort of STDs or me getting STDs. She had no cuts in her mouth and she swallowed a little of my pre-cum. Also i had no cuts or anything on my penis. Please help me... Thank you Also i was just wondering... if she had a cold sore on her lips and she gave me unprotected sex... would that give me herpes or genital warts? she didn't have a cold sore or anything but i'm just wondering...

i meant unprotected *ORAL* sex... not unprotected sex.

A cold sore can pass on herpes to the genitals. It's usually a different strain and it's not as severe as standard genital herpes on average, but you still want to avoid it as best you can, by refraining from oral sex if she or you has an outbreak. (You should refrain from kissing, too, unless you both already have cold sores.)
Some other STDs can be passed on through oral sex (eg syphilis), but it's not a common method of transmission of STDs generally.

"Some other STDs can be passed on through oral sex (eg syphilis), but it's not a common method of transmission of STDs generally."But if both of us do NOT have any type of STDs then there isn't any way that we could have a type of STD right?

Well you certainly couldn't catch STDs from each other if neither of you has any.

even in oral sex?

Even by kissing, if you have oral herpes (cold sores), you can pass them to your partner. If you have the flu, you can pass that to you partner. There's no way to guarantee 100% that you or your partner won't pass something to the other person. But if neither of you has had sex with anyone, and neither of you has had a blood or organ transplant, and neither of you is a needle-using drug addict, and neither of you has a cold sore that can be seen or felt, you're pretty safe. The only way to be truly safe is to never touch another person (or your kitchen sink, for that matter).
