Okay so I've had phimosis since I can remember... and like... pretty bad. I can barely retract the foreskin at ALL. I've never had a problem with it, though, as far as some of the negative symptoms people suffer from... like irritation or bleeding or whatever. So about 4 days ago I went to the doctor's and asked him to give me that topical steroid that assists one in stretching their foreskin. So Day 1 I applied it and had good results! The next day I was disappointed that the effects had disappeared.Day 2 I applied it and had good results! The next day I was disappointed that the effects had disappeared.Day 3 I had a hot shower and thought "Screw it, I don't need the steroid" so I stretched it back like HELL and my penis looked completely different (i.e "normal"!). I was very pleased. The next day the effects had worn off AGAIN and I was back to square 1... but oh no... it got worse. Now I think the hole is actually getting SMALLER, the opening of the foreskin is red and kinda swollen... it's REALLY sensitive and it's hard for me to move around (like bending over or sitting or whatever) because my foreskin hurts with any contact... and worst of all is I have a DISCHARGE!!!! I'm so disgusted I can barely handle this... I am SO scared. I don't know what to do. Is it infected? What should I do if it's infected? I don't want to go to the doctor's again because he'll ask to see it and it's so disgusting I can't even handle it myself.....

Very urgent phimosis problem!!!

The problem here is that you expect results overnight. The process takes weeks. You overdid it. If you were able to retract the skin completely, you don't have phimosis. Just a tight forskin. The goal is to stretch the foreskin and hold it there to maximize teh stretching. You need to do this daily for like 20-30 minutes. You've just caused the forskin to become inflammed. It should get better shortly.

Oh no I couldn't retract all the way back... not even halfway... close though.
The problem was that... I didn't exactly have an instruction manual for this type of thing so I wasn't sure what to do... so I thought the harder I tried, the faster things would turn out...
Anyway the inflammation and pain have gone down... and I'm not really getting apparent discharge anymore... so I'm not that worried anymore.
Anyway I've read some of the topics on this board and I've learned a LOT. I'm very glad I stumbled across this forum.

Hey, man. As SDP mentioned, "stretching" a tight foreskin can take weeks ... even months! An internet friend in Norway spent an entire year at it, before he could retract easily, but then he began with only a pinhole opening, whereas you are far and away ahead of him, though you have only begun.Try the method of stretching demonstrated here: http://www.foreskin.org/46-33-03.jpg Gently but firmly pull out on your foreskin, away from your body, and hold the stretch for up to five minutes. Repeat the exercise several times a day. If you are able to insert a finger or two, also stretch the opening, as though you were opening a pillow case, pulling the skin at right angles to your penile shaft. Since you haven't been exercising the foreskin regularly, you may be advise to also "stretch" the frenum with this exercise: http://www.foreskin.org/46-33-04.jpg In this case you only pull on the underside of the foreskin, where the frenum attaches. A frenum needs regular workouts, too, else it could snap from lack of use, when tension is suddenly applied during intercourse. Remember, "stretching" is actually a misnomer. You are actually attempting to encourage new skin cell growth, which takes time and patience. Rely primarily on your own fingers for these exercises. Betamethasone cream actually works to thin the skin, so you should use it extremely sparingly, and use it only on small areas of your skin where it might be of value. Many men don't waste their time with these creams, as they don't seem worth the trouble, but you'll have to determine that for yourself.Korydon
