At age 18. THAT sucks. Even the doctor made fun of me. Need to know what I can do to get rid of them. Soaking them in hot water I've heard. Question is, will that REDUCE them? Cause I want to make it so that their gone for the time being. Creams of course. Just wondering if creams will make them dissapear, and if soaking them will make them dissapear.Or do I need to get them surgically removed or whatever?

In reply to:Even the doctor made fun of me.What?!?First of all, you want to make sure you're not squeezing, which is usually caused by constipation. To quote myself from an old post (updated):The desiderata of good pooping: Don't squeeze too hard, don't sit on the toilet and read the whole newspaper, drink plenty of water, eat plenty of fiber, exercise, don't sit for a long time without getting up and walking around occasionally, don't have big coughing fits, don't carry around excessively heavy things. Diarrhea also contributes to the problem. As does childbirth.Soaking your rear in warm water will make you feel better and will help shrink the offending vein. Anusol HC (hydrocortisone) creme or suppositories helps reduce swelling (but don't use it longer than label recommendations, unless your doctor says otherwise). And don't forget to use birth control.Once a hemorrhoid pops out, it is more likely to come back in the same place...follow the above guidelines to try to keep those veins at bay.
