Skype
-
I have used it but lost it when i formatted my pc, hmm might download it later =)
-
I used it a lot a few months ago, with a DSL connection on my end. It worked very well. I used it locally (no problem), and between Boston and Hawaii, which is a long way. In fact, it sounded better than a cell phone to cell phone call. Also, my non-technical friends in France use it for international calling. They're happy with it too.
You can also use it for small conferences (4 or 5 people).
And it's free.
-
I've used it in the past, but not recently. I'm usually online in the wee hours of the morning so talking would just wake up my family.
-
I quite like it, international calls are one of the cheapest that I've seen for internet phoning. But I do like the conference call feature cough cough
-
umm.. what is it???
-
OK, you're talking about the non-free version, where you can talk to people who have old-fasioned phones. PC-to-PC it's free, but works best with a headset (headphones with attached microphone).
-
u know ur going to have to explain all this to me later.
-
you never called me back
-
ummm I lost everyone's number on my last reinstall...
you was always bloody engaged whenever I tried to phone... it's not as if you don't see enough of billy bob that you have to talk to him on the phone every 5min's
-
yes, I did pay for the extras, then someone I know told me the hack for it lol... last time I do that lol
-
sounds great, i used to love 'talking' to people who i chatted to online.
-
This sounds as though Paul might get bored again and randomly call people through-out the night... This is why I'm glad I never got that close to you crazy A2A people...
-
skype is fun because it gives you the chance to have a conversation online which is as good as a phone call. only reason why I have gone for the full account is that it's cheaper to use that, than it is to use a phone line in the uk... except for the mobile where I get 500min's free each month and free internet

Skype home page SkypeOut Rates (cost of calls in euros). SkypeIn (get your own phone number for 10 euros). Accessories (to make it like using an ordinary phone). You can download the softwar to your PC for free, and talk to others who have it on their PC for free. (I'm not sure how well it works if you don't have a broadband connection.) You can get compatible accesories from other places as well. Was that a free advetisement?_________________________________________________________________[Edit: that was in response to the original question.] Minimum System Requirements (128 megabytes)
