If your trying to lose weight, should you exersize before you eat breakfast or after? What is the "right" way to wake up your metabolism? Oh ya, I am on a thyroid replacement so I essentially control that by a pill, it doesn't change like everyone elses does,if that has anything to do with it.

No no no....I want to know, what is the best way to wake up the metabolism...to exersize before you eat so you burn fat (makes sense) or eat a little to get it all going..?

I agree with no1. It doesn't make sense to nuke your blood sugar level and then exercise, but if you exercise too soon after eating, you might get stomach cramps.

Thanks Helmsman! Whether anyone realizes it or not, I am working REALLY hard on getting myself healthy again. Many of my (serious) posts had to do with relationship problems, but more for the sake of "am I getting better at it?" Or is he really right that things should happen overnight! (all things that I was working on when I met him)Im 5'10" and used to weigh 140 (and looked and FELT great!), in 2 years I gained about 40lbs, WAY sick to me, and it all goes on my butt and thighs (some on my belly) didn't even get bigger boobs I'm a freakin waddling pear! YUCK. I have battled weight probs all my life, and with the Graves Desease (thyroid thing)and the painful winters, it has gotten more difficult (serious swings in my weight, I even dropped to 125lbs, while they tried to reulate my thyroid after they "killed" it) so I am TRYING to find a good, (and affordable) lifestyle that will get me back into my 26's...Alcohol is crawling out of my life, and spring is here, so I figured that I would start putting in my garden, walking the dog, waterballoon fights with the kids, raintag, and then I have wood to get in for next winter, and some construction jobs comming up...all good exercise...No, not controled like a gym, but I cannot afford a membership, and the y is just as expensive because of the fuel to get there.I've done some research, but find SOOO much conflict about it...Like exercising before breakfast, but it didn't REALLY seem right, just made sense, though I heard about ketosis, I for some reason, didn't put that into the equation. NOW, because of the budget, what are some good breakfast foods, anyone know of good sites to find yummy low carb stuff for breakfast? It seems to be the toughest meal of the day for me, infact, I hate to even eat before noon, but I know I should. ( I WILL do some looking on my own...but if someone found one they love..Please post it)

Given your thyroid issues and your weight swings, have you had a consultation with nutritionist? It's something your doctor should think about, if he hasn't already. In any case, getting rid of alcohol can only have positive effect on your health.
