If you are a Christian and believe in the end of days as an actual interpretation as cited in Revelation, you may find this interesting. Revelation 13: 16-17 says that the beast or anti-christ will make all take a mark of his name or image on their forehead or back of the right hand to be able to buy, sell, or trade. Now, let me explain, and don't dismiss me as crazy. MONDEX is a corporation that has developed a so-called smart chip. This chip is no bigger than a grain of rice and Motorola is developing it. This smart-chip is designed as a "credit card" and is expected to make currency obsolete. Revelation says that currency will be made obsolete in the end of days. This smart chip is injected by needle. Now Mastercard bought 51% share of MONDEX and spent $1.5 million on research on where to put it on the human body. They said it would be useless in card form as it could be cut out and fraud would be prevalent and the card would be obsolete in 1-2 years. Now the $1.5 million dollars in research found that the ideal places to put it were...you guessed it, on the back of the right hand and the forehead just below the scalp. To make things worse, the chip, once implanted CANNOT be removed. It runs on a lithium battery and a transponder. If you were to attempt to surgically remove the chip, the capsule its encased in explodes, destroying the battery and sending poisonous Lithium through your blood stream. It also sends a message to "authorities".Now, you non-Christians, atheists, etc., save your "You're crazy." crap as I know a lot of you don't believe as I do. This is more for informative purposes and not designed to cause controversy, etc. I don't want to hear any smart ass remarks, "You're full of shit", or anything like that. I know on the search engine it pulls up a guy explaining away the presentation, however, is it possible he's right...certainly...however there's an equal chance he's wrong. From what I have read on him he has no sources except for a few webpages like FAQ etc.Again, this is strictly for informative purposes only.BTW, if you don't believe me on the fact that there is a smart chip like this go to www.google.com and type in "verichip" or "MONDEX bio-chip" or "MONDEX smart-chip".

Yea, you're crazy...

If your serious, back off...If not...

I reported what I was told and provided resources for further research to foster the develpment of informed decisions on this topic rather than rash emotionilizations.

lol. This is an urban legend, and a fairly bizarre one at that. Check out the following link if you're interested: UrbanLegendExposed You might also take a look at the Mondex website. The smart chip is actually for use in cards (not people!). As the link details, this urban legend involves countless factual inaccuracies and some very odd claims. In particular, as prosthetics and implants are highly regulated, something that exploded when you tried to take it out would go about as far in the US market as a piano tossed by a squirrel. But no, I don't think you're crazy... you've just been misinformed

I went and looked at that the other day. The fact remains that the potential of technology to be used in this way remains. There is a current project underway to eliminate paper work by using a chip in infants to hold birth certificate, insurance info, etc. which of course brings to life certain feelings of security v. privacy.

I've heard about this kind of stuff before and how it problem will happen one day. Prob sooner than we think. Well anyways i don't like the idea of it at all. Who would put something in there body like that i mean carry around a dam credit card, are they really that heavy? Also the part about the poison and stuff i've never heard of that b4 and doubt if this ever were to be true that that part would be there. What if someone got infected by it bc they were allegic to the chip or something, there would always have to be alternet ways to payment and removal otherwise alot of people would die. Also there is a huge privacy issue and the last thing i want is the crazy government knowing my ever move, that is if they dont already.

Part of my point is if you look at it from a religious standpoint (yes I know, not many people do, and makes me look like a zealot to many here, but oh well) is that the "poison" would be a selling point for a "world potentate". It would also be a good way of tracking people down who have gone off and started thinking for themselves...almost seems a little 1984-ish or Big Brother-ish

I agree, this is some creepy shit. What will happen when the christians refuse to accept it? (when it does start to hit the public) will we be cast out of society? My dad and his cronies used to discuss this a lot.
-
Well, I'm 99% sure that Steppenwolf is right, to an extent. But according to the whole idea of rapture, 7 years, anti-christ, etc...yes we will, and then you will need to go into hiding b/c if you don't take it then you will be executed. BTW, the belief of Christians (backed up in Revelation 13) is that you must have the mark to buy/sell/trade, thus making currency obsolete.

Well well. In that case, my family is gonna go out with shot guns in our hands. 2 for each person. They're not going to put any chip in my body. I hope they like buck shot.

Yes, I've read the Left Behind Series, and its a great work of FICTION. I found it very interesting & quite enjoyable- though I still perfer my Stephen King Books. Some poeple take things a little to seriously and then rumors like this get started. I don't doubt something like this may be used in the future- way in the future. But just becuase Big Brother wants to keep an eye on us- not at a "mark" from the anti-christ.Christ, you read the article yourself I hope- the best place are the upper arm & the back- not the "designated" places bible thumpers predict.....

You can have your pets 'chipped' so when they go missing their details can be accessed easily. The tech aint new anyhow and it doesen't have to run on a lithium battery, it'd be a bit on the big side don't ya think? I could see this kinda thing being used instead of cards...who knows, the signature is only just obselete.
-
You apparently have it out for me.Go back and read the fact that I said this was interesting...nowhere did I say it was the mark, I said it had some similarities to what people believed that to be.BTW, fiction is often times based on extremely accurate past truths.
-
It's so difficult to interpret Revelation--who knows what the passage may actually mean?
-
While it is true that "666" in Hebrew numerology spells Nero, thats who they beilieved it was, the mark means basically that you will swear your allegiance to "the beast" not God. I tend to side more with The Left Behind books and feel that we will live in "regions" with designated numbers and that will be our mark, if you take it of course.

I think eventually it will be like star trek. Humans united.
