Okay, so first mistake I made was trying to shave my pubic hairs around my penis and not knowing everything about it... It so happens that I was shaving the exact opposite way that I was supposed to because my logic was the razor would pull the hair if I went with the "grain." Anyways, now thatr I know (even though it is too late...), I have these red marks. I'm pretty sure it is razor burn and what not. But I got two questions:
1. About how long will it take for the red marks to go away assuming they aren't ingrown hairs. And if they are ingrown hairs, how long and what treatment? (i.e. Aloe Vera?)
2. Since I now know I should shave the way the hair grows in , how do I shave close the trunk of my Penis? I've read you're not supposed to stretch the skin and I also did that so that it'd be a flat surface to shave on... anywho, how do I shave neat the trunk of the penis and on the shaft of it?

them red bumps will goe away in a matter of time and just dont push real hard when u shave on the shaft

Ingrown hair is a bitch. I had 7 or 8 when I shaved against the grain over my penis, and has to use a needle to reach under each one and pull them out. I still have red cuts after a few days, but it should heal soon.As for how to shave your shaft/scrotum, I highly recommend letting the wieght of the blade do the cutting. Simply drag the razor slowly across and let the blade simply brush against the skin. When I do it, I go really slowly, and can feel each hair being pulled and cut, and end up really smooth with no burns, cuts or ingrown hair whatsoever.Enjoy your bald crotch!

I use an electric beard trimmer. Works really well and you dont have to put a sharp blade near anything precious.Just get one of those ones you can adjust the length on, and trim it short but not bald. Solves all your problems.

Or get someone else to do it for you, I shave my other half every weekend

Well, how do I know the difference between an ingrown hair and a razor burn/bump. And should I stop shaving till the redness goes away?

Personally, the trimmer would be the best choice when shaving over the shaft, since in that area at least, the hair comes out of the skin at a very low angle, so shaving too close leads to ingrown hair. For the shaft and balls, for me at least, hair comes out straight, so using a Gilette Mach 3 Turbo and going slowly and delicately does a perfect job. The hair grows out normally, and I never cut myself. I'm actually more afraid of using an electric trimmer than using a good triple-blade razor. Let's just say that for weird reasons, the skin over my penis is very soft, and got caught/cut repeatedly when I used a trimmer. I guess you have to try and find out what works best for you.
