Me nor my girlfiend had ever had sex with each other or anybody else until a week ago. She got on birth control and we have had unprotected sex multiple times in the past week or so since the patch supposedly started taking its effect. About 3 days ago, about 5 days after we had sex for the first time, I noticed a medium sized red rash along the left side of my penis. It feels somewhat rough to the touch, and is sometimes itchy. I feel no pain and there is no discharge or anything like that, and we have stopped having sex completely since I noticed it. I've been getting extremely worried about this, especially since she is underage and I am not.Could this be just the result of having sex too much? If so, what exactly is too much? I should have used a condom even though she has the patch, I will definantly start using one after I get this resolved, regardless is she has birth control or not. Any advice or re-assuring words would be greatly appreciated.

Worried about having an STD..akward situation

It might be a bit of abrasion - carpet burn. Another possibility is a yeast/fungus infection. If it hasn't got better by itself in three days, I suspect the latter. It's a common problem. If that's what it is, both you and your girlfriend should use an antifungal/antiyeast cream. The penalties for underage sex can be severe.

It appears to be slowly going away. Should I wait another couple days and see what happens, or is it urgent that I use some cream as soon as possible? If so, is there a certain kind of cream you recomend that I can get over the counter?

It's not urgent, so you could wait. Any cream for tinea or athlete's foot or ringworm or jock itch or thrush or candida would do - they're available over the counter.
