I think the subject speaks for itself.

What is petrolium jelly?
-
brand name VasalineOdourless, tasteless, greasy substance, obtained as residue from petroleum after lighter and more volatile components have been boiled off. Purified residue is obtained in form of a yellowish or decolourised semisolid, known as petroleum jelly in form of a clear to faintly yellow liquid, known as mineral oil.both petroleum jelly and mineral oil (baby oil) can attack many plastic compounds. That's why they are a no-no with condoms, dildos etc.
-
that doesn't make much sense, the box of petrolium jelly comes in a plastic container. and a website called jacking world said that you could stimulate yourself using vasoline and a plastic bag. is vasloine, patrolium jelly?
-
hes, vasoline is a brand name. I think the container is usually HDPE, which has a higher chemical resistqance than many other plastics. Also, the structural integrety of the "baggie" isn't critical like a condom, nor do you need it to last a long time like an expensive gel dildo. If you could get an even more expensive Teflon (also a brand name) dildo, then you could use anything as lube. From a heath point of view, it's not recommended to use any petrolatum type of product internelly (although, I've never heard of nor experienced personally any ill side effects). That's why all sexual lubricants sold are water based.
-
can patrolium be used as a lubricate for a simulation?
-
oh yeah. It's not harmful to the skin. Pet Jelly and Baby Oil are sold for use on the skin. It's frequently advised against for internal ussage but, like I said, I've never actually heard of a problem.
Fear not the slippery stuff! -
So.. exactly how could i use this stuff? i've got a tube of it that only i use for another reason. Would i just put it on and rub? or is there somthing else to it?
-
Different plastics are made from different chemicals. Petroleum jelly will destroy latex. Plus it's really messy and hard to clean up. You may be better off with something water-based, like K-Y jelly.
-
My ultimate disadvantage here is that i cant buy this stuff, my parents would have to know and why. is there any other use for this stuff that would meen it's somwhere in the house that i can get without anyone else noticing?
-
umm dry skin and chap lips? burns, sores
-
I'm not sure petroleum jelly is the best idea for burns. It sounds like a good way to get an infection.

Polysporin... the tattooed best friend
-
There are lots of nice antibiotic ointments in a petrolatum base. But vaseline from a jar that everyone's had their fingers in sounds like the wrong thing to put on a burn.
-
unfotunately, there are still some old-school biker tatooists that will tell you to use Vasaline to help your fresh tat heel.
