I want to have a new body, new and muscley body for the first day of school, so I started doubling my exersises (I build up to the exersies, I just didn't switch one day.) and picked up running a mile every day.Is it to much to run a mile everyday, like just starting out?My mom tells me to do it every other day or my knees will hurt.P.S I have no knee, leg problems.P.S.S Is running a good way to loose wieght quickly?

Running.

Running is a great way to lose weight, but you won't build much muscle while doing it. Also, if you haven't really run before, then starting fast is the quickest way of getting shin splints. You want to have proper footwear, and do a nice long cool down with mild stretching after every run. You should start slowly and build up. Also, give yourself at least a day or two of rest every week (more as you're first starting). You might want to try walking as well for the first month or so, where you run one day and walk the next. You'd be surprised what regular long walks can do for the muscles in your legs.
For muscle, I'd start out by lifting weights. Be sure to do a full workout for your whole body through out the week. There are many threads that talk about that.
Swimming is also a great way of getting in shape. You could run to the nearest pool, go for a swim, and run or walk home. If you have a bike or rollerblades, that's also good. Swimming, biking, and rollerblading are far easier on the joints than running, and are much easier to get into quickly assuming you know how to do them.
Hope this helps.
