That's often said, but I believe it has been shown to be untrue. And most guys don't get hard when they have a full bladder.

Morning wood ???
-
It has nothing to do with urine and full bladders. The erections do not last all night, so the thing you heard about it holding back the urine is quite false. I may wake up late in teh morning, go pee, go back to bed and then have an erection when I wake up a couple of hours later. My bladder certainly isn'y full... so that theory is bunk too.

hum... it's ture... Dylan would go use the bathroom and come back to bed, and then like around 5 minutes later when we finally decided to get up from bed, there's a "rising tent" by his crotch... i am still amazed till this day and of course couldn't resist and don't want to waste such a boner... he tends to be more sensitive than usual with his morning wood... how do u explain that ??
-
It's the other way around with me. When I wake up, I'm about as hard as I can possibly get, but my body is still numb from sleeping so jerking off barely provides any stimulation until I wake up fully.

Do I have a poor blood circulation if I don't have morning wood? Will my heart stop? Why does this site scare me so much
-
I doubt you have poor blood if you can't achive a "morning wood". and also you're are not going to die. If you honestly feel that you are getting poor blood circulation, then see your doc about getting a blood test....Keep us posted if you do have poor blood. Maybe some of us might have the samething you got.?.?.

...although a lack of morning would could be a symptom of low testosterone. Might wanna have your thyroid checked.
-
Thyroid? The testes produce testosterone under the control of hormone(s) from the pituitary gland in the brain. Is the thyroid somewhere in the chain?
-
hum... well, recently Dylan got tested that he has anemia... so now he is been taking pills that will help his body to produce more blood cell than before... but even before he got tested for anemia, he would have morning wood every morning... so i don't think it has anything to do with blood.... probably hormone...yeah, so check with a physician if it bothers u... but i don't think it's a problem though.... just different person has differnt level of hermone...

His heart will surely stop. It is the heart of a spammer.
-
dont worry about it, i seriously doubt it will be forever. Cuz i used to get those for about 2-3 years every morning, and im 15 now, and only get them....once or twice every 2 weeks.
-
Morning wood is normal. I love it, feels like a million bucks!
-
Dylan is 19... he told me he has morning wood since he is 14... we have been going out for 2 years... i pass his apartment to go to school every morning... so i get to wake him up every morning... then 95% of morning, he has morning wood... probably it's really the hormones that cause such thing...

In reply to: Thyroid? The testes produce testosterone under the control of hormone(s) from the pituitary gland in the brain. Is the thyroid somewhere in the chain? I thought that's what I remembered the doctor saying. A couple of months ago I saw him when I was experiencing depression, weight loss, etc...just wanted to get everything checked out. He asked me all of the standard questions around depression, including if I got morning erections. For some reason I said no...maybe it wasn't hapenning as much during the depression...then after telling him that I realized it was happening quite regularly. Anyway...because I said no he was concerned about my testosterone level and I thought he tested my thyroid as a result. I could be wrong about that. I'm no doctor and I'm relying on a memory that's not what it used to be.

depression, weight loss, etc.Thyroid issues can cause depression, weight loss, weight gain, hyper-ness, listlessness, etc., dependig on whether the thyroid becomes over- or underactive. But if thyroid hormone levels relate to testosterone levels, that's new info for me.My friend had an unusual thyroid problem that caused it to temporarily go hyper. He started losing weight rapidly. Fortunately it didn't last long, and he had a rapid recovery. But it gave us an opportunity to learn about thyroids.

When I was depressed and extremely obese, I rarely got morning wood. However, weight loss and improving my outlook on life have contributed to me feeling a lot better and getting morning wood more often. Sometimes, it has to do with your physical AND mental health. Not just one or the other.
-
Well - I'm 16 and I have them EVERY morning when I wake up it never fails..I dont really know that much about it - and I know its never because of dreams or anything.. It just happens.I think it has to do with - well.. Kinda like when you sleep on your hand, and you wake up with it asleep.. I think thats kinda like what happens (Untill the blood starts flowing thru it again)
-
Its testosterone. Because when a doctor asks if you get morning erections, and if you say no, one of the first things the doc will check is your testosterone levels through a blood or saliva test.
-
not a lot of ppl know about morning wood, am i right ?
because no doctors here ask about it... they sucks~~

Most mornings i wake up i've got morning wood. Its such an awkward time to get it as i'm always trying to avoid my flatmates incase they say something about my boner
