I am confused that I can burn off 1000 calories a day in the gym but never lose weight. I don't eat 3500 calories per day, but even if I did, the 1000 I burn off will reduce the net daily calorie intake to 2500, which is the recommended allowance for an adult. If I am reguarly visting the gym and trying to lose weight, should my daily calorie target be something considerably less than 2500? Fore xample, I allow myself 1000 calories of food per day but then burn it al off again the following monring. At the moment, I eat twice as much as I burn off. Is this still the reason I have a beer gut even after 3 months of solid cardio work?
