hey everyone, i have a ordeal... see i just quit smoking i am 18 years old and i have smoked maybe since the beginning of July till just last Friday. i know i haven't smoked as long as many of the other trying to quit...but i would expect that i would be welcomed here either way.
now this is my problem, I have been a on/off smoker since July at one point in September I didn't have a cig for maybe 3 weeks. but then around October i got back into them starting off with 2 a day, then soon it developed into 3 and then like 4 a day. It depended on how stressful my day was... But i would have to say on average i smoked 3 or 4 a day for about 3 or 4 months. I quit cause i noticed it was taking over my diet and i lost a lot of weight.
I am used to the whole quitting process since i already endured it back in September. I was used to feeling anxious and getting dizzy spells for the first 2 days. but this time it was different, this time i noticed some vague white patches on the roof of my mouth...i got scared, i had only smoked for 3 maybe 4 months and i developed something. thinking about it makes me shake now, but i decided to do a little research on my own and thought of "Leukoplakia" something i remembered from health class. it can come with chronic irritation of Tobacco. I read that if i stop that it will clear up within a few weeks.
what i want to know is
1. is it possible to develop something in such a small time frame.
2. Is this just a side affect from me quitting?
I'm scared believe me.... lucky i am going to my dentist next week i don't if it will clear up by then but I'm just scared that this could possibly be what i think it is and i don't understand how it could have developed in such a small frame of time.
