I think the important thing is to get back to a doctor. It's not uncommon for something to be missed on a one time test. This doesn't sound like a simple phantom pain. If it's reoccurring and severe there's reason for it.

Pain Is Back...
-
Don't get scared by it just go and get taken care of. Many simple innocuous things can cause some pretty horrific pains.
-
I have been to the doctor, of course I'm going to try to go again as soon as possible, but something should have come up the first time I went, and it didn't.

Medicine is not perfect. Things are missed everyday, that should have easily been caught. Maybe the lab equipment was compromised, the tech reading the ultrasound may have had a bad day. Don't take, "we don't see anything wrong" as an answer when you know obviously something is not right. The medical field is just as fallible if not more so than all the rest of us.

I'm very sorry, I just re-read my previous reply to you and I sounded horribly blunt. I just made an appointment and am going to a doctor on Friday, so hopefully the problem and a solution will be found.

No need to apologize.I hope everything goes well Friday.

I thought I should say what happened today...As some of you may know, I went to the doctor today with regards to the pain I was experiencing. So I went in, we (the medic and myself) were in the tiny little room and she did some form of an ultrasound. Nothing at all came up. I asked her if she was positive, she said yes but got a different person in to reassure me. He said the exact same. Then, I was asked if I ''was sure there was a pain there''. No I'm not sure, I like to make up stories and run around hospitals when I have different things to do. Jeez of course I'm sure. They said there was nothing further they could really do for me. They took a blood sample and said that if I didn't hear from them within a few days everything was in order. What in the name of God do I do now? It's still there and just as bad as ever. I guess I have to hope it'll go away in a few months. But those months are going to be so painful, please don't think I'm being a drama-queen but it's much worse than it was last time (2005-2006) and even then it was extremely distracting. So, that's the update.

It seems to me that the best option would be to see another doctor. These people don't sound very thorough. I'm not sure, but I don't think an ultrasound alone can see everything and be that definitive. Obviously something must be wrong. Good Luck!
-
Thanks, but the thing is this is the second set of different doctors I have been to. Nothing was found either time.

Like thoughtful, I have to think there would be a whole plethora of things that an ultrasound wouldn't pick-up.What you might do is call another doctor and tell them you've had two ultra-sounds that have shown nothing and ask them what they might do different. Get a copy of the ultra-sound you've already had done so that if a doctor does want to see it it's there and he doesn't have to order another one and you don't have to wait till one can be scheduled.Interview the fuckers. Their just doctors. Dismiss the ones that are going to go down the same path that's already been trod.
