I caught my husband masturbating last week. He's assured me that it is nothing compared to having sex,but how can I believe him when he comes nowhere near me,and I havent turned him down once?!!?!Have read conflicting opinions on this subject and would be interested in both male and female opinions on this.Thanks.

Bothered by male masturbation

If he is not interested in havng sex with you and resorts to masturbation to relieve himself, it would seem that there is some underlying issue between the two of you.

yep

There's no underlying issue between us.Things are good otherwise but on the other hand(pardon the 'hand' pun),things are shit because of the discovery.I've read that if a man substitutes sex with masturbation, then it becomes a problem. All very good and well, but no answers to how to solve that problem! When a person has a sex drive, and goes to their hand to relieve that issue, rather than their partner, then why can't men understand that the partner would take it personally?I could understand if I were denying him,but I'm not!Quite the opposite. It's like a to-do of "2 easy steps to piss your partner off".1 - Drop kecks.2 - Pull tool.Done and dusted.Mind blowing orgasm and wife feels like the inadequate failure she is.Brilliant.Thanks for the reply anyway guys.

If he has no desire for sex, then I still think there is "some" issue even through you don't think so.

Typically, if a man chooses masturbation over sex with his wife, it doesn't create a problem as much as it is a symptom of the problem. Don't be so quick to take it personally. It could actually have nothing to do with you specifically. It could be an issue with him. But there is an issue.
