Ok FYI, in a real fight someone usally goes to the hospital! We've got a street fughter here!rotf

Martial arts or plain fist fighting?
-
Uhm, really? Wow, I must go around the US and tell every school to stop calling their "whatever-you-awnna-call-them" fights, because if no one goes to the hospital it's not a figh! Yes, sir!

Martial arts are a good sources of exercises but most focus on one thing. For example, Judo is all about fighting on the ground. Karate is all about fighting standing up. You could be a master blackbelt at karate & easily lose a fight to bigger, stronger grappler. In my years of bouncing I've seemed to learn through my experience that martial artists are some of the easiest cats to fight. They have a false sense of security.I highly doubt a few months training in martial art style is going to help you at all in a real fight. Another thing I've noticed is that martial artists practice certain moves in slow motion. They hardly ever practice in a real-life scenerio where the other guy is struggling & fighting against you. It makes things totally different. So In Summary, unless you're training in a mixed martial art with true-life fighting scenerios then no martial arts are only good for getting someone beat up at a bar.

Do you think it's a "real" fight when someone get punched in the face once and they both go their seperate ways?
-
Do you think in school fights they just punch each other in the face and then leave? What school do you go to, some Christian school?
-
Yeah, no. First of all fights get broken up pretty quick and they are pretty pussy, except two on one fights!
-
Well your school is obviously a lot different than mine. We don't have many fights here but when we do it's serious shit and it doesn't get broken up that fast because the administrators can't break through the crowd around watching that quick, which is good.

I have no martial art training what-so-ever & I have fought a lot of people who have. I have never lost a fight to a martial artist. In my personal experience they're a lot easier to handle to fight than an experienced street fighter. Unless you train in a mixed-martial art I wont have respect for you. Those type of fighters are one dimensional. I was a bouncer for a while, so I've had my experience.
Tae Kwon Do fighters can only fight standing up. Put them on the mat and an average wrestler/grappler will have his way with him. Again most martial artist have false sense of security.

I consider many martial arts to be showy and not proper for use in real situations. Although, as with almost everything, there are exceptions.I consider Jeet Kune Do to be the master of all martial arts. It is a fighting technique that contains bits and peices of over 20 martial arts. Dedicated to having no form, unlike many if not all conventional martial arts, it is designed to be used in real situations and real street fights. Unfortunately, Jeet Kune Do cannot be taught. As Bruce Lee once said, "I cannot teach you Jeet Kune Do, but I can show you what I've learned."If you're interested, you should look into the published books by Bruce Lee.

I dont think bruce lee would be the great fighter he was without martial arts so it must help
-
I deliberately said if you only take one martial art. Mixed martial arts are helpful. I've fought pussies & I've fought guys who were supposed to be bad. LOL a 17 year old, 6'2" kid wouldnt stand a chance. I dont care what martial art or arts you're takin. You dont have the experience.
-
There are great street fighters and there are great martial artists. If you are dedicated to either side then you will learn by observation and trial. There has always been an argument between strength and speed. If you were to put the fastest figter up against the strongest fighter and both having equal experience, who would win? The answer is indefinite. The best thing is to have a combination of both strength and speed.

OH my god I cant believe what I just heard. Height dont mean shit. In fact, I find it extremely easy to get my hands on a tall, skinny person. All that high-kickin wont mean shit when I have you pinned to the ground.
Trust me buddy, you WOULDNT stand a chance. I can tell from the what you have said that you have a BIG false sense of security, and youve NEVER been in a real fight before. Try to "high kick" me and see what happens. You'll find yourself flat on your back.
The only real "martial arts" training that I have is boxing and wrestling & I dont really conisder those a "martial art" My training is my experience. I've been in close to 50 fights from the 15 to 19. I used to get in a fight almost every day in school when I was in grade school. My senior year we had a fight every weekend for the fun of it. You haveta realize boy, down south we dont play. You take an experienced southerner & face him off against the same experienced northerner & the south will win 9/10 times. It's just how we were raised. My dad told me to fight. Our schools will let kids fight until it gets too bad. I've seen teachers stand around and watch it. I'm tellin ya, I've been up north & live down south - the people are raised differently.
But if you really wanna get cocky, when you turn 18 holler at me. I'll tell you the bar & when I'm workin. Bring your ass down for a visit. Something tells me you wont be so confident when you're not behind a computer screen either!
Oh and by the way - I beat the crap outta a Tai Kwon Do instructor one night. That's right, the instructor! The guy that teaches everyone else. Now I'll admit he was gettin the better of me when I was standing toe-to-toe with him, but when I got ahold of him & slammed him to the ground. It was over. He couldn't fight on his back, only standing up, so I made a mess of him.
Again I'll say, unless you train in a MIXED martial art ro several different brands of martial art at the same time - YOU WILL NOT WIN in a real fight against an EXPERIENCED street fighter. Also, if you're still in your teens you dont have the proper time to become a good fighter, especially in several different brands. So be careful who you smart-off to...
-
let me tell ya, the only thing martial arts is good for is kicking someones but
-
I didnt say anything about height meaning about fightin on the ground. If I'm not badly mistaken you said you take a stand-up fighting martial art. I was comparing you to all the other one-dimensional fighters I've been around.I dont have to know you. I know you're type. You're all the same. And though I know it may have sounded like I was referring to just you - I was trying to put it in general terms. I'm actually gonna laugh at someone if he tries to "high-kick" me. When you do that, you put yourself in a very vunerable position. Why you think you dont see many "high-kicks" in the UFC? Think about it "moron"OK so now you're contradicting yourself. First you wanna say you can kick my ass. Then you wanna say ok I cant but I'm smarter? Make up your damn mind.Oh & trust me, ANYBODY that I dont know standing 6'2" weighing 190 & under 18 years old (I'm assuming those are still your stats) I would say the exact same thing to. You can bet on that bitch.Again we come back to the topic at hand with you contradicting yourself. You said someone who took martial arts could beat someone who didnt. I just proved to you that you're wrong. And again you go back to you "scholar" shit. I just made my point loud and clear - with ample time & training in several mixed martial arts, a street fighter wont stand much of a chance MOST of the time. HOWEVER dont think just becuase you take A martial art you're gonna be a badass, cause that's definately not true. Are you too dumb to realize that a man can work 2 jobs? Bouncing from 9-2 at night and the train from 10 to 6 in the day? Ever thought about that one?Now I'm tired of this shit. I'm not sayin nothing more to you becuase you're an arrogant, stupid, stubborn, aggravating, cocky lil kid. If you got somethin more to say then PM me. If not then shut the fuck up & stop litterin threads.
