Either everyone is masturbating a lot or everyone is lying or no one is an adolescent male. Nocturnal emissions (wet dreams) are extremely common in guys of that age.

Wet Dreams

Not if they're whacking off three times a day.
-
Then we agree. Even if 3x a day is not "a lot", it's ususally enough.

In reply to: Nocturnal emissions (wet dreams) are extremely common in guys of that age. Not as common as you think. There was a study somewhere (it may have been Kinsey), that showed that only 40 to 50% of all teenage boys have had a wet dream. Even for those who have had a wet dream, they usually don't happen often. So its very rare to get wet dreams often.

I was a freakezoid then. What is considered "often"? I'd say 2 or more times a week.

This is just a theory, but I'm wondering if maybe wet dreams aren't a little more common among young adult men who aren't sexually active than among young teenage boys. My thinking is that a 21-25 year old male who isn't sexully active is probably not masturbating as much as a 14-16 year old kid who isn't sexually active.Just a thought...
-
It would be a difficult study to undertake. Where are you going to find 21-to-25-year-old men who aren't sexually active and who don't masturbate?
-
You wouldn't have to. My theory was that 21-25 year old men who aren't sexually active masturbate less than 14-16 year old boys. So you would only have to find the young adult men who aren't sexually active, which shouldn't be too difficult, and then question them to find out how often they masturbate and how often they have wet dreams. That would either prove or disprove my theory about the correlation between young adult men and wet dreams as opposed to teenage boys. The frequency of masturbation among both groups could also possibly at least suggest causality.

I've tried to see a correlation about this (wet dreams and age), at the website I run, www.wetdreamforum.com , and havne't seen any conclusive evidence. First off, 21-25 year old men who aren't sexually active don't necessarily masturbate much less than 14-16 year olds, or if they do masturbate less, its still frequent enough that wet dreams don't happen. Most of the guys who try to get wet dreams on the forum abstain from masturbation and any ejaculation of any kind. I think the youngest members we have are 16, and for whatever reason, they do seem to get wet dreams sooner and more frequently after quitting masturbation than older members. However, we have some guys who are in their 40's who get wet dreams after abstaining quicker and more frequently than 16 year olds! So I'm not sure if there really is an age correlation or not. Unfortunately, we don't have enough members yet to make statistically significant observations.

i never had any in my entire life, always wondered why... They talked abotu them when I was young in sex ed but Never happened to me, I guess I started masterbating in 5th and 6th grade, just had the urge to do it... so maybe I was emptying it out before wet dreams had to occur
