On Monday i had 3 teeth removed, two next to each other at the back of my upper jaw and one at the bottom on the opposite side. So you can imagine how hard it is to eat right now. I wondered how long it would be before i can eat on them? How long before they would be fully healed.I don't want to get food in them and get them infected or anything.

Itll take up to a week. Some people have swelling..so your face looks like a pumpkin : ) but that goes away in 3 days or even sooner.I love food so I knwo this is pissing u off....for now eat warm soup....cookies and milk etc.

YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAD TEETH TAKEN OUT ON OPPOSITE SIDES ON ONE VISIT.(i am a qualified dental nurse) unless you opted for it. If this was a decision made by your dentist without your input I would seriously consider registering with another BDS.You should also have been given proper advice on what and when to eat and received follow up care to check for any abnormalities in you gum, failing that been reassured that you could call any time if any questions

that's not true

You both say the opposite thing without saying why. I think you both need to back up your claims. Logic tells me that eating properly can be more difficult if teeth are removed from both sides. But I do believe that surgical extraction of wisdom teeth of all or both sides is fairly common.

I had all four wisdom teeth taken out at once with no problems. I was told to drink Slimfast or Ensure, because it's filling and you'll still get balanced nutrients until you can eat normal food. I was also told to eat lots of protein as it would help speed healing. The important thing is to go slow and avoid the extraction sites. It's also very important to get all the food out of them afterward, as you do not want to get an infection. I've never heard of only getting extractions on one side of your mouth....

if you have bad bleeding b/c of the extractions - put wet tea bags on the sockets. there is an acid in there that helps with clotting and when you change them, it doesn't pull the clot out like gauze does.

I had 3 wisdom teeth taken out at once and I was unable to chew for about 3 weeks and even then you need to be careful and avoid really..chewy things!!Mine took longer to heal as I am a smoker which didn't help. Everyone will heal at different rates so its best to take it one day at a time depending on how you feel. I used to suck warm soup through a straw, not very appetising but the best I could do. Goodluck x
