Today I have had a sharp pain that comes and goes in my right testicle. I have had aches and pains in them for a few years that come and go. I have seen a doctor who checked them and found nothing and in September 04 I had an Ultra Sound scan and that came out fine. Their can be a gap of several months between this pain (I havent noticed it since October time). It seems to be mainly in my right testicle (today anyway) though I seem to remember having it in my left one sometimes. If I had to say a part of the testicle which hurts the most it would be at the bottom, and when the doc did an examination it hurt when he touched that part. Since cancer has been ruled out (by scans and the fact I would be dead after 4 years) does anyone have any idea what it could be, or suffer from the same thing.

Do you have any swelling in the veins that run from the testicle into the body? When I say swelling, do they feel thick or like a worm? The reason I ask is becasue you could have a variocele which can cause aches and pins in teh testicle. You can look up variocele here or on the web.

I had the same thing when I was about 16. Scared me to hell because I thought I had cancer or something. I should have seen a doctor but I was dumb and never did. Luckily it turned out to be nothing and went away after a few months.

Thanx for all your replies. I am 19 though it started when I was 14/15. In reply to:When I say swelling, do they feel thick or like a worm? I checked today and it does feel a bit thick but not like a worm, though I havent got the pain today. I have been checked by a doctor a few times, would it be routine for them to check for variocele?

Yes, you should. Although it's not necessarily a problem, if the variocele is bad and painful then it might have to be taken care of. Only your doctor can tell you if something needs to be done.
