Well, I've established a good trhee day program of lifting. My diet: Protein shake and banana in the morn, salad for lunch, meat and veggies for dinner. Sometimes I splurge at night, though. My question: I am a fairly tightly wound guy body-wise, 5'10 or so, weighing in at 180. Thing is, ALL of my body fat is around my midsection, making my legs (though strong) look out of place. Will a 3-day lifing program with a reasonable diet help me lose that fat, or is cardio absolutely essential (I do like to box). Thanks!

OK, now about my stomach

you gotta do cardio. You should run on off days 2-3 times a weak. Helps relax the muscles and make sure you stretch plenty.

OK 20 questions, here: Will working out on the heavy bag suffice, or is that too high-impact? Thought about doing it today and on other off days...

i suppose you could, but that is a bit rough on the muscles. If you can try to bike ride. It is low impact but will help with losing any fat and is good cardio.

OK, gotcha. Perhaps shadow boxing, and I'll break out the bike when it's not so disscustingly wintery (I live in MI). You da man.Up The Irons

also, you could try and balance your diet a bit. try the thirds rule. one third of your plate should be fruits (in the morning) and vegies (lunch and dinner). one third carbs, and one third protien. if you maintain good balance between them, your boddy will start to loose its fat reserves. also, be carefull with protien shakes. 84% of young men get too much protien, which then turns to unusable fats. try and keep your protien intake between 50 - 70g per day.
