Hello, I just recently found out that my upper teenage daughter seems to be 'missing' her labia minora.....she is incredibly embarrassed about this and I want to know if anything can be done and what type of doctor to take her to. I would take her to our family doctor but she is so embarrassed that I would rather have just one doctor look at her.
I doubt your daughter is actually 'missing' her labia minora, but some women have such small and insignificant labia minora that they are unnoticable, just as some women have quite large and noticable ones. I found this on the web
In reply to:
Some have labia that hang down five or more centimetres from between their labia majora, others have labia minora that are tiny and are little more than creases between the inside surface of their labia majora and their vulva. Colour is not just race related. Women can have labia any shade from light pink to dark brown.
Most say their labia minora are not especially sensitive though pulling and stretching them can provide some variety during masturbation.
Personally I woudln't put my daughter through an examination if there isn't a problem, but as a mum myself I know you will do what you feel is best for your daughter. </font color>

Even if it is missing/small, the labia minora are not very important so don't worry about it.
thanks very much for the information. I felt the same way about not worrying too much about it, but, she has been so upset that I thought I should get more opinions....thanks again
How old is she?
