I'm in a real pickle. I just started at this place called 'Buckle' in my local mall. During the job interview and orientation process I started getting these weird vibes that made me not like the store. The manager creeps me out. He hasn't really done or said anything to sway me that way, he just gives off this bad vibe. He keeps saying I act 'sassy'. Okay? He was like "I check out peoples myspaces so you better not have anything bad on there." and I said "Sorry, my MySpace is private" and he was like "Ooh aren't you sassy?". I just get this huge WTF flag whenever he says anything to me. The other employees seem to dig him, but the other employees are kinda weird too (sorry, they are). I use to work at American Eagle next door. I loved it there. But I couldn't get a ride to work so I had to quit. Now that I have my license, I was going to get my job back there but I thought I'd give a new store a try. I'm trying Buckle and it's not really feeling right to me. The atmosphere, people, and manager. I so miss my old job and want it back. I just don't know how to do that without royally pissing off this weird ass manager of mine. Please help.

How do I quit my new job?
-
Just quit the job. Talk to your manager, and make it clear that you don't want to work their any longer, and that you will be giving your 2 weeks notice(if that's what you're supposed to do). He can't refuse you, so just quit.

My problem is, I'm almost afraid of this manager. He creeps me the hell out. I don't know how to break the news.

Give him a written two week notice; and start it like this... Dear Sir:Effective _____________, I hereby resign from my position withthe company.Sign your name. Before you submit your resignation, make sure you have a job with the other company first. Good luck!

That last part is important. Unless the job is seriously bad, always have somewhere to go to.And yes, just keep the letter business-like. You don't have to explain yourself.
-
Talk to your old boss, see if he'll have you back. Then do as the poster said and give a written two weeks. It's your life, and you have these rights.

I'd be afraid of him too if he said he checks out his employees myspace. But yeah, either just tell him "this is my 2 weeks notice" or write a letter and leave it on his desk on your way out one day or something like that.Sure, it'll be awkward the next day and he might ask you why. If he does ask you why, just tell him you liked your first job a lot better, and now that you have your license, you can work there again (imagine that, the truth!).
