I just want to say that I am mildly offended at the results from the bra size calculator. Sure some of us may be small, but is a 42b really that small that you have to include a jab with "if these measurements are correct, there is no need for a bra"? REALLY?! Some people are really sensitive about how small they may be, but do need to know their size for reasons other than bra hunting, like costuming, etc. so thanks for that! really, i appreciate it!

I'm afraid the person who wrote that visits this message board very rarely, if at all. I imagine the comment was intended as fair advice for those wanting to know, especially young girls considering their first bras. I can't say whether it is good advice for a 42B: I would have thought a B cup is not so small.

The bra size calculator on this website is incorrect. It is using old measurement practices. Presently, nearly all bras are made with stretch material. A 32C bra is designed to fit someone that has a ribcage that is 32 inches around. If a woman were to input that her ribcage is 32", with her breast tissue measuring 35", this calculator will tell her she is a bra size 38. That is 6" bigger than her ribcage. And because her breast tissue is only 35", it will tell her she doesn't need a bra at all. She should be in a 32C bra. That is the correct size for someone that is 32" underbust and 35" overbust. Also, a B cup is very small. It means that your breast tissue extends out only about an inch past your ribcage. A D cup is also small (on smaller framed women). Bra sizes are designed with two parts. The first is the band. The majority of the breast tissue's weight should rest on the band. If a woman is wearing a band that is too big, the band will slide up her back and won't support the weight of her breast tissue. If she is wearing a band that is the right size, her boobs will be adequately supported. The second part of the bra size is the cup. This is designated with a letter. A 36A means that a woman with a 36" ribcage has 35" of boob. If a woman with a 32" ribcage had 35" around their boob, she would be a 32C. If a woman with a 28" ribcage had 35" of boob, she would be a 28F(that's UK sizing. US sizing would be a 28G). The size of the boob on each woman is the same, but because the ribcage on a woman is smaller, it is marked with a different letter. So 36A=28F. A 36B will be bigger than a 28F, even though a 36B will be smaller than say a 40A. It is all relative to the band size. Please either change the calculator so it calculates correctly, or take it down.

I call BS on this statement. My wife is a B-cup and her breasts are not "an inch off the ribcage".And now you are saying a D-cup is small?
