Anyone else think this movie was an unexpected treat? I heard that it won 8 awards and i heard alot about it but honestly the movie was pretty underground and didnt get much publicity or advertisement. I only saw it advertised maybe twice.Anyway my friend invited me to go with him and see it today and i accepted, we had to go to some small theater that plays movies that people rarely even hear of. I went into this movie with no expectations, i didnt even know what the movie was about but i can say it was freaking excellent!! Seriously i thought this movie was great. I recommend anyone that loves a good movie to go see this. Anyone else see it, if so thoughts?

I really like the movie too........It thought it was very good when I first saw it........But the 8 Oscars did surprise me :open_mouth: though I had expected it to win some awards.

I haven't seen it yet but plan on it... heard its really good!Another awesome movie that didn't get enough publicity was "Milk". I also had to go to one of those small theaters in order to see it. I highly recommend the movie

I saw Slumdog about a month ago. I really liked it. It was a very good movie, but I think there were a few that were better (Like 'The Reader'!!!) I had a hard time getting beyond the inaccuracies surrounding Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. I was actually a phone-a-friend several years ago, and I can tell you they got a bunch of stuff wrong. Trivial, I know. But I had a hard time putting it aside.

It was enjoyable. Still not even near my favorite movie from last year, but it was still well done. My friends and I saw it because we always see everything that's nominated for best picture, and it was probably my 2nd favorite out of what was nominated. Danny Boyle's a great director, and the performances all just felt real and genuine.

My best friend and I saw this by accident. We originally went to go see Bride Wars which we did and it was hilarious. Then while we were waiting for my mom and brother we saw it was about to play so we just walked in and saw it. It was INTENSE. Some people walked out because they couldn't handle some "stuff". But it was really good. I only recognized the main character Dev Patel because he used to be on a British show called Skins I used to watch. I'm so used to seeing him as the joker in that show it was different seeing him play a serious role. I loved the movie though. And then we saw Marley and Me which was also surprisingly good.

I also heard Marley and Me was a great movie. Glad to see others enjoyed this movie as well.
