What can you do for hypoglycemia? The docs say I have it but don't ever seemed concerned at all about it. Anymore, after I eat it seems like whatever or whenever I get a huge blood sugar crash about three hours later if I haven't eaten yet again. It hits me bout everyday at this time. I get to wear I can barely lift my fingers it gets so bad.Is there anything preventative I can do? I know I can go get a candy bar or whatever but I don't want to do that. I would like just to avoid the crash everyday... twice a day.

The doctors didn't seem concerned about mine either. What I have learnt to do, especially with reactive hypoglycemia, is instead of eating a large meal which raises your blood sugar for it to then plummet, keep eating small amounts all the way through the day. This will keep your blood sugar fairly consistent and you'll hopefully avoid the crash. Remember to avoid triggers like caffeine as much as possible and to make sure your meals aren't too high in sugar. I try to avoid junk food if my hypos are being particularly bad. Should you have a hypo, instead of eating candy, have fruit. Bananas seem particularly good for it. This should stabilise your glucose levels rather than spiking it and leave you with another hypo just after you start feeling ok again. Have something to eat every 15 minutes until the hypo goes away. Hope this helps you and good luck managing it =)

Same here I opt for complex carbohydrates to keep my levels normal and eat more often, every hour I eat something.
