Age Difference
-
It's not that crazy, I have known people who are your age dating 14-15 year olds. Espically the way most of them dress these days o:
-
mmmm jailbait
-
Dude... 15 will give you 30!Leave them alone... they are too young!
-
I'm guessing you didnt see the humor in that...
-
It's not too wierd or really sick. If you were 27 looking at 24yr old girls, there would be no question.
That's kind of the wierd thing about teen sex.
I'm not telling you to do or not do anything except think before you act. -
How about if you're five and you're dating a two-year-old? Too big an age difference, I'd say.
-
I say you can look but you do not touch in my personal opinion. I'm 19 and I will admit that there have been a few 16 y/o guys who I though were pretty darn attractive, but would I do anything about it once I found out their age? No way, too young for my taste. I'd prefer a guy my age or older.... mainly older lol What can I say, I like older men... it's like a fetish lol But anyways, back on topic, I think it's okay to admire someone younger but nothing more than that. Thats a big "no no" in my book, but thats only MPO.
-
sometimes, I really think age of consent should be based on a ratio. It's all such an odd concept. In reply to: What can I say, I like older men... it's like a fetish hmmm, strangely I have some fettishes too. What a funny coincidence!
-
Nuthin' wrong with an 85-year-old guy dating an 80-year-old woman...or a 19-year-old woman, if he's rich enough. (Right, Anna Nicole?)
-
Anna... big, fat Kentuky-fried whore.atagirlOr a 43-year-old guy and a 7 year-old guy, as long as Michael is rich enough
-
In reply to: Or a 43-year-old guy and a 7 year-old guy, as long as Michael is rich enough OMG! That's just wrong unsupervised! LOLAnd to the topic. Honestly it depends on the state (think we went over this before) if that's considered "jail bate". Honestly I see nothing wrong with a 17 year old dating say a 15 year old. That's only 2 years difference. Not even sure a court would even entertain such a case if one is brought before them. In a lot of states there's an age spread they look at more so than under 18 years old. In ohio (unless it's been changed) the age of consent is 17 and there's a 3 year age spread as well.Best thing to do is just look up your states law on the topic.
-
This whole age of consent concept has come up here before and it tends to be a touchy topic. It is a little odd in a few ways. Now I'm not some free-loving anarchist hippy libertarian who beleaves that no one should interfere with an honest love between a 12yr old and a 30yr old. However, I do find it wierd that the courts try to quantify something like maturity. One day, you're breaking the law and the next day (if it's your partner's birthday) you're not.Imagine having sex with a 17yr old girl on the eve of her b/d. You're breaking the law when you start but at the stroke of midnight, suddenly it's all cool with the courts. It's just wierd.
-
However, I do find it wierd that the courts try to quantify something like maturity.> One day, you're breaking the law and the next day (if it's your partner's birthday) you're not.Of course that's absurd. But if you don't draw the line somewhere, what will stop> an honest love between a 12yr old and a 30yr oldfrom happening?> Imagine having sex with a 17yr old girl on the eve of her b/d. You're breaking the law when you start but at the stroke of midnight, suddenly it's all cool with the courts.True, but then you can argue that a lot of 18-year-old girls are not mature enough to reisit being taken advantage of by an older male, and the government is cutting a lot of slack by making the age of consent 16, 17, or 18, rather than 19 or 20.I'm not saying that I agree with that...just some points to ponder.

wasnt is common way back in the day (Im talking maybe hundreds of years ago) for the daughter of a man to marry a man that was the age of her father? I think it was something commonly done in europe I forget where i heard or read this.

as flawed as the system may be, it's still necesary unfotunately. Like so many things in life, one rule does not fit all but that's what we have to work with. Technically, one week after my 18th birthday, I commitied stautory rape, evgen though she was only a couple of months younger than me.
I think the laws here have been changed to a more graduated system that allowas for consentual sex among teenages but it's bee so long since it mattered to me that I'm not current on the issue. -
If you're 18, you don't have to fuck a 15 year old to go to jail. If you get caught giving them alcohol or cigarettes, that's still contributing to the deliquency of a minor. You can still get in trouble, even if there's no sexual contact.
-
I see nothing srong with someone of the age of 17 engaging in intercourse with a girl of 14 or 15. As a parent, I would take another view, however. As far as the law, I don't think there is cause for concern. Even if you turn 18 and still have sex with a minor, I think the courts take the beginning of the relationship into consideration. In the "old days" young women were married to older men, and also folks married young in general, but it is assumed that maturity occured very young, as opposed to today, generally speaking. Also life expectancy was lower, and so this was accepted, and then there was only a certain ammount of available spouses given the hazards of travel and the insular nature of many communities. In short, it is almost imposible to compare practices of long ago with today.

ain't it a funny culture. If I bang or booze-up a 15yr old, it's off to jail for me. But if I convert her to Christianity...
-
Some folkways are arbitrary. It can be argued that arbitrary rules are better than no rules. It can be argued that no rules is a better system. Who knows...
