theres no real proof of global warming
-
There's been an increase in average global temperature over the past century. There is no dispute about that. The question is what is causing the temperature increase, and whether it's just a natural anomaly. Some skeptics of the idea that the recent global warming is caused by human activity (or cows farting) are becoming less skeptical.

I was watching the science channel, and global warming and cooling is natural...to the exten we are experiencing who knows.

OMG! THat artical totally made me laugh. I dunno how Pat can call himself a christian. He is the most hate-filled man.Anyways thanks for the artical, made my morning.

It seems that both Pat and Janis have too much time on their hands. One exersize in stupidity deserves another. The Grennhouse effect is a natural phenomena. Global warming is in fact, cyclical. What is in dispute is the cause of this recent cycle. It seems clear that the cause if both natural and man made.
-
temerature cycling is natural as is extinction. It's pretty hard to argue that our dirty, smelly activity hasn't had a severe effect on both though.unless you got a science degree from GW Bush University.
-
Agreed. I am more conservative in most things, at least fiscaly, but am disheartened to see the casual disregard for the one planet that can support human habitation. Regardless if human consumption has lent itself to this latest cycle ( and I beleive it has) we have a responsibility to the Earth. It is the only freakin home we have.
Of course, there is some hype on both sides, equally counter productive.

Apparently so do you and I. A lot of Christian religious bigots completely buy into Pat Robertson's cement-headed line of reasoning. Hatred toward the idea of homsexuality had an effect on the last presidential election results. The complexities of the economy, national security, and world politics don't rate much thinking time for a lot of people, but the idea that gay marriage will destroy our moral fiber goes down easily. Demagoguery sells, and Karl Rove knows it.
-
There are generally devisive issues in every election, from the municipal ones on up to the presidential ones. The nature of politics. I myself try to steer a course between the two extremes. I think that is where the truth of an issue is. I am not sure if Pat Robertson is leading such thinking, or merely the front man, riding the groundswell among those of similar bent of mind. I recall reading a history of country music. A woman in the Appalachians was being interviewed. In the course of this, she commented upon a asked question that man didn't land on the moon 'cause it didn't mention it in the Bible. Waaay before Pat Roberston. One mans mush-minded thinking is another mans clear headed "logic". I have noted with satisfaction that enviromentalists and logging interests have reached a happy compromise inthe northwest. If two such extremes can find common ground, there is hope, but I don't see such comming from Congress or the oval office. I see it comming when the two sides realize that politicians are best served keeping us divided, and circumnavigate these roadblocks, to come together as people with a common goal. The preservation of mankind, and our general way of life. That will never come from politicians or from those with a political frame of mind.Just my humble opinion

politicians are best served keeping us dividedYes. Political compromise seems to have gone out of style.

It wasn't you it was God...because you made him angry. But an intervention was done, and he's now in a 12-step anger management program.

It must be a real paradox to the acolytes of Pat Robertson that the French (beads for boobs) Quarter of New Orleans was relatively unscathed, while many churches were destroyed. A fickle God indeed.
