im really scared actually. i recently started using evra patches, and today is the end of my first cycle when im supposed to have my period. but what i didnt notice was a corner of it was partially lifting off (not a lot of it, but i dont know how long its been like that) but i was wondering if any of you knew how this would affect me and if i would still be protected, if not fully, would i be protected at all?? and how long after you take off the patch are you supposed to get your period?

Evra patch

I only know as much as my doctor told me >_< lol. I would assume that if it didn't come off completely that you'd still be protected, because it infuses the ingredients into ur skin. My personal advice is stick to the pill, cuz if you remember taking it everyday then it hard to mess it up. If you have trouble remembering, just stick a note on ur mirror, with some innocent looking symbol or a "code word" that'll remind you about the pill. I wouldn't trust the damn patch to stay on lol.

that was exactly my problem with the patch. it always came off by the end of the week. i would say that you should definitely stick to the pill becuase the patch just seems to risky. plus, i dnot know about you, but mine would always get gross sticky black stuff around it, like when you wear a bandaid for too long. the patch just doesn't seem worth it at all.

phew! i have my period. does it usually take so long to start? i took it off on sunday and i only got my period on wednesday. yeah exactly. i always had that black stuff on it too haha. ill have to stick to it for now cause i just dont have the time to go to the clinic especially when its only open certain days. do you know if we need extra protection liek condoms when we put our patches back on for the next cycle?

With pills, the period is the same way (same ingredients, so go figure lol ). I finish the pack on the sunday, and period is on Wed, like clockwork. Anyone will tell you that using condoms with patch is very recommended...but if you've been putting it on regularly, and it hasn't falled off then you should be protected. BUT since ur new to the patch, then use a condom untill you've been on it for a while (habit).
