i cant find anyother place to express myself so if you dont mind.i love playing guitar,i love music, but im traped inside paper-thin walls playing silent music.I Rarely have time to play guitar anymore and when i finally have a lil time to spare at night, i cant play cause it will wake everyone up. so whenever i want to play during my only free time(night) i just gently strum chords with my thumb while whispering lyrics.I cant take it anymore. i need to just play my heart out as loud as i want and sing loud as i want but i cant do it anywhere else because where i live there is no music places nor a nice secluded play to jam. I feel all this energy just dying to be played out but its starting to depress me since i cant relive this energy.call me emo or whatever i dont care. i just needed to get that off my mind.

Silent Music and paper thin walls

You have to turn lemons into lemonade. I was in the same situation when I was learning guitar. I had an acoustic guitar, so I worked on fingerpicking, working on the classical style. It was very good practice. You can do it with an electric guitar as well, and learn to play like Lindsey Buckingham, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Warren Haynes, and Albert King. See this wholenote.com article.Just keep pracicing, keep working on chords, and keep working on melodies. You can do it without making much noise.Isn't there anywhere you can ever bring your guitar and let it rip?

thanks for the link but not really i seem to be out of luck when it comes to expressing myslef through music

Either I'm missing the metaphors, or your're saying that you can't express yourself unless you beat the crap out of your guitar.

go out on the streets at night?
-
ok i know nothing about guitars etc, but can't you go to a park, sit and just play?
-
Yeah. Do something like that. There are parks everywhere. If there are no parks, then there is a field or something. What about rearranging your schuele?

I don't think he wants any advice. He just came here to "express" himself.

I don't know about where you live, but my local library has a few soundproof music practice booths...maybe there's something like that in your community.

that would sure make me want to go to my local library if it had one.
