My girlfriend and I had planned on celebrating our 3 month anniversary tomorrow with a romantic rendezvous at her place (after not being able to see eachother much recently due to work commitments). Unfortunately she's come down with tonsilittis and won't be up for it.I insisted on going around to look after her, she initially put up some resistance before letting me. So anyway, what I was wondering is what are some good ideas for presents for someone who isn't feeling to well. So far I'm thinking about some flowers and DVDs to watch, but I'd like some other opinions. Thanks in advance!

Get well/cheer up gift ideas, help please!

A tub of her favorite ice-cream might be a good idea, thats all i remember eating when i had my tonsils out...........and good DVD's for her to watch is a nice idea

Yea icecream sounds good. But I don't think cookies and cream will be a good idea with the cookies in it. Maybe I'll get my favourite icecream and we both win!

Wish her well for us...Let us know how it turns out. Congrats on the 3 month mark!

I was thinking ice cream and movies as well.
Another thing that would be cool is one of those nice, comfy throw things. Even if she already has one, it's a cool gift.

I ended up getting 2 DVDs, some flowers (they were yellow [her 'happy' colour], I don't know what they were called but they looked nice and she liked them) and some frozen yogurt. She was much worse than I thought she would be. She watched half one movie then her fever picked up, so I was doing cold flannel runs ever 5 minutes for and hours or so. That happened 3 times throughout the day. She could hardly eat too =(.I hope the penicillin (sp?) works well tonight because I don't want her going through all that again. And on a more selfish note I'm a little peeved because her period is due fridayish so our "romantic rendezvous" will have to be delayed a week or so .

I'm getting really stressed out right now. She has continued to be really sick since wednesday (it's now saturday for us). I was planning to go out and see her today, she said I shouldn't seeing as she still wasn't feeling well. I was going to anyway but someone else was using the car. I still planned to go when the car was returned, but when I rang the house there was no answer and same with her cellphone. She mentioned she might be going into the hospital if she got worse. I'm really stressing.I'm going to ring the hospital now.

Turns out she had gone to hospital. She was in a really bad way before she got there but now she's had a drip and some steriods and is able to eat properly for the first time in days. Doctor said it was most likely glandular fever , have to wait for the blood tests but it's most likely that. I've only now noticed that my right gland is swollen... Anyways, hopefully she is past the worst of it (she threw up 6 times last night), I can't bear seeing her like that again .

awww hon im sorry to hear that. You did the right thing ringing the hospital, and she will be fine in no time shes in the right place.
