I know the risks and the damages and what it costs me I dont need to be educated about it. As long as you don't smoke in the presence of non-smokers (especially your kids), that sounds fine.

Need Help From Smokers!!!!!& Peepz who Have QUIT *DELETED*
-
We dont smoke in the house or garage or the car if the kids are with us. They know I smoke, they have seen it on walks or camping and they know its a dirty disgusting STUPID thing to do.
-
Actually, The thing about parents smoking, not neccesarily still in the womb, but after they born, is even if they, like me, know its something stupid, they still smoke. For instance, my mom is having some health problems related to her smoking as a teenager, about the same age as me, 14 she started. Regardless my first butt was today. Your kids knowing its a terrible thing won't stop them. You need to stop smoking parents, just stop. If you ever have a craving to smoke, think about your kids. Im not old enough to buy butts, so i share with my friends, they let me take a drag or two. Thats how bad it can be for your kid smoking. Also- Smoking hurts your immune system, and makes you 3 times more succeptible to AIDS, and with a kid who will end up sharing drags with people, that is not a good thing.

Regardless my first butt was today. Why? Why? Why? You know what a stupid thing it is to do, and you see the problems that it causes for other people, including your mom, why would you do it?Hang on...in another thread, you said:> I used to smoke a little bit, barely ever inhaled, only once, about 16 months ago (Im 14 now, i was 13).
-
He did say in that other thread "Today, was my first real smoke, pretty much ever". I think, like Bill Clinton, he didn't count it when he didn't inhale.Kohakusango, welcome to AfraidToAsk. What you're discovering is that even when you know what is right, it's not always easy to do it. Of course you should try to do the right thing, and the fact that you are asking for help is very good. Your failure today (which does not make you any worse than the rest of us) should remind you that all of us are fallible. I hope that when you give advice to others on other topics, it will keep you from looking down your nose at people who fail in other ways that you happen not to have failed in yet; and I hope you will not blame your failings on other people, while insisting others bear the responsibilities of their failings. When we recognise that we all are weak, we can more effectively support each other.

Let me share a story....My mother has been and still is smoking for 23years now, and during her pregnancy with me. And quess what? I'm not retarded and my brain and everything else is functioning perfectly well. My advice...Smoke less until the baby is born!
-
That is awful advice. You may be 'fine', but others may not be so lucky. Smoking and second-hand smoke damages your lungs and heart...among other things.
-
not to mention Orb posted to an old thread.Smoking is HORRIBLE. And the MOST difficult challenge of my life has been quiting. Even not drinking is TONS easier than laying down the cigs. And I havent had one for 2 days...but have been loaded with nicotine. Don't go there orb, its bad no matter how you try to slice it.
-
