If this is true then how did STD's get started? Needle sharing?
-
So if you don't have an STD, you can't give one?
-
So when it says on some websites that you can get an STD from contact with someone else's bodily fluids (blood, semen, vaginal discharge,) does that mean someone that is already INFECTED or just any bodily fluids, blood ect.
-
If you do not have it you cant give it to anyone. There are some that you dont show symptons of, but still carry it, but that still requifres that you were exposed to it sometime in your life.
-
It means infected bodily fluids. You can't catch an infection that isn't there. The problem is that you can't tell which bodily fluids are infected and which are not. That's why you're advised to avoid them all unless you're in a relationship of trust where the other person would tell you truthfully if they are carrying anything.
-
So say there is cum somewhere from a virgin with no STDs at all on the cum. What if bacteria from like the showeer were to get into it, would it be an STD then if the cum was still alive?I'm trying to figure out how STD's work. Like if a virgin cums and some kind of bacteria that isn't sexual fluids gets in it, is it an STD?
-
No doesn't work that way.
And STD is caused by a virus that's obtained sexually (well in most cases) and is than carried in the bloodstream that than gets carried in bodily fluids. That's why cum and vaginal fluid is contaminated if a person has an STD.
Hope that helps clear some things up for you.
-
What are the other cases? Needles?
-
Aye needles is a very good example. Other than sexually, anytime open blood can infect another persons body, through sores, cuts etc. is another way to transmit STD's like HIV/AIDS.
-
open blood meaning already infected blood right?
My dad is a diabetic and sometimes leaves out little napkins with blood on them.
-
Yes the blood has to be already infected to consider it infectious.
-
Thank you sir, you answered a lot of questions for me today.
-
Very welcome

So theres no way to get an STD in your shower if you live by yourself even if there were to be some kind of shower bacteria or something in it correct. I hate when the drain clogs up when I am masturbating, even if its probably just soapy water but I am so parinoid about this. Maybe I should just stick to computer masturbation....Hell maybe I should see a shrink....
-
You seem to have some ongoing anxiety problems about this.
-
Yeah, I really don't know why either. I just think that something bad will happen. I don't know why either. Maybe it's just guilt. I don't know, maybe I'm afraid of death.
I bet you all think I am worrying over nothing, like always. It just seems to me that something like bacteria from the shower could effect me if it came in oontact with me semen, but maybe it can't, since its not sexual or anything
-
Bacteria from contaminated water can cause infection if it enters the body, but that type of bacteria is usually not the type connected with an STD ( sexually transmitted disease ).
-
I know I am probably worrying over nothing. People have sex and stuff in the shower all the time. I don't know if I should get a blood test or not....How long does one have to wait after they think they are exposed. Maybe I am thinking way to much into it.
-
Buddy you are thinking WAY too much about it. First off understand a VIRUS not bacteria causes STD’s. So even if a bacterium comes in contact with cum it's not going to cause an STD.In order to contact an STD, as I stated before, INFECTED bodily fluids need to come in contact with open wounds or contacted sexually. There will no chance of contacting an STD from masturbating in your shower, so masturbate all you want and stop worrying.

I don't mean this to be rude or anything, so please don't take it that way. But, as many times as you have asked, basically, the same question, in multiple threads, and gotten several, what I believe to be, informative responses, maybe it's time to look at the problem in a new light.
Granted, I may be completely wrong and out of line, but, sense your mind is still troubled by this could it be that its just an irrational phobia rather than a lack of understanding of the workings of infections. What I have gathered about you, which is admittedly limited, from your thirty some posts, I would encourage you to do a little research on some of the phobias listed below and see if you think that they describe you.
_Dirt, contamination or infection- Molysmophobia or Molysomophobia.
Dirt or germs, being contaminated with- Misophobia or mysophobia.
Dirt or filth- Rhypophobia or Rupophobia.
Dirty, being dirty or personal filth- Automysophobia.
Disease- Nosophobia, Nosemaphobia or Pathophobia.
Disease and suffering- Panthophobia.
Disease, a definite- Monopathophobia
From Phobia Definitions_
Admittedly I didn't look very hard, but I found no other information for these phobias than their names. Maybe someone else has a link or knows where to find more information on them.
-
Some STDs are bacterial rather than viral (for example, syphilis and gonorrhoea), but the bacteria are rather specialised and not found generally floating around.
OldFolks, those old names for specific phobias aren't used much any more, because it's possible to develop a phobia to anything. All phobias are a type of anxiety disorder. I agree that it seems this is a problem with anxiety that leads to an obsession.
