In reply to:Something isnt the case because you dont like it, no matter what science says? no. to me, those studies make no sense whatsoever. In reply to:The logic behind your posts is as helpless and unhelpful as christian moralism you may want to understand what i said completely before you go sayong stuff like that.

Gay Marrage

The studies that indicate that that there is a genetic component to homosexuality don't impress you? The evidence is mounting. Research using functional MRI is adding to the body of evidence. If there is a genetic difference, then there is a physical difference.See this post and this post.

I've always thought that gay people are born with an extre gene or chromozone or w/e its called. Like XX for male and XY, I know the males get to choose the sex of the child. maybe there is like XYX or YYX or some new combanation we dont know yet? just my theory
-
Your theory doesn't really make much sense. There are people who are born with one or more extra X or Y chromosomes (see this post), but that would seemingly make them more heterosexual.
The genetic differences under discussion are very, very small variations on a gene, not a whole extra gene.
-
What if there is more then just ex. XX -> XXYX? I like biology, but this stuff was way to complex!
-
Google Klinefelter syndrome, XXY syndrome (both the same), and XYY syndrome. Sometimes there is more than one extra X or Y chromosome. I've never heard of extra X and Y chromosomes in the same person.

Speculations on the nature of the cause of homosexuality does not seem like that big a tangent from gay marriage, at least compared to the course of so many threads.I'm not sure if we're going in circles, but the topic seems pretty well exhausted. There is one person in opposition, and he's not putting anything new on the table.
-
does that mean we can finally let this thread die?
-
No one is forcing anyone to read it, and certainly no one is forcing anybody to post to it. It is very easy to skip a thread.
-
I know.but thats not what i meant.i just think this thread is ready to die.
-
I dont bellieve threads ever have any kind of sell-by date. Threads are dead when there is less than two people willing to discuss it. If some new people come and continue where others left off then thats their business and hardly a big issue.
-
i didn't say there was. i just think that since we completely hijacked it now,its ready to die.
-
No, they are never "ready to die" unless there is noone posting in it. People may or may not continue this thread, but if they do then so what? If they dont then so what? If theres posting, theres posting. Simple. You dont HAVE to add posts to it.
-
Was the poetry thread "ready to die"? It seemed to have come back to life.
-
(Not directed to you Steve, you're just the last to post)This thread is now get off topic, either put it back on track or let the thread die. Thanks!
-
I've only just spotted this topic and will be contributing on the 'leave marriage alone' side once I catch up on what has been said already. This is a long thread.
-
This is a relatively dead thread and should remain that way.
