I was in the hospital a few days ago for pain which turned out to be gallbladder stones. Just was curious they tested my blood and urine and just was curious if those tests that they do aat the hospital would show stds? Or do they not look for those unless specailly asked?Just curious if they test blood for hiv automatically

Blood/urine test question

Most blood tests are a 'complete blood count' which includes a white blood cell count. That test doesn't detect the virus per say, it will just show a abnormally low white blood cell count. But just because you have a low WBC count doesn't mean you have HIV, it just means at that point your immune system isn't as strong as it should be.Even then, the medical staff would need to see signs of risk before looking for HIV. (IE, needle stick injuries, injection drug use, unprotected sex)

Probably not
Logically because of costs involved and secondly your consent would be required due to privacy laws, tho these may vary depending on location
