I'm a 20 year old, Female.Around two years ago I went to my gynecologist to get tested for EVERYTHING-- I came out negative in everything except Herpes type 1 but I've NEVER EVER had ANYTHING ANYWHERE. Not even a tiny itty bit of anything. My question is I've had a BF since then but we've kissed, has sex, oral and he never had anything. About a year ago he had a small irritation by nostril with tiny red bumps...it went away in a few days, now the same thing same place happened a week ago. Once again I've NEVER had ANYTHING down there or on my face. Could this have been my fault? &

HSV-1 no symptoms

It's possible in both sexes to have herpes without any noticeable symptoms. If there is almost, but not quite, an outbreak, you can be infectious without even knowing you have it.
I don't think it's something to lay blame or fault over.

Is there a possible chance that it isn't a cold-sore on his nostril ? Just curious...according to him, his nose was really runny and he had to keep blowing his nose which caused irritation, then 2 days later it spread out a bit bigger (before it was only small and at the entrance of the bottom left nostril) now it is bigger but it does not reach his mouth. I would of suggested him to go to a doctor but he was no health insurance currently since he graduated from College and recently it expired. PS. This has happened to him before last year and we had kissed and everything since at the time I didn't put 2 and 2 together that it might be a coldsore since it was by the nostril.

It's certainly possible.
