Okay so this is whats going on-My foreskin has always been attached to the ridge of my penis, completely intact with the head (Not talking about the frenulum, I'm talking about the front of my penis). In the last few weeks the foreskin has been detaching from the head of my penis. It's as if it's breaking off. Everyday more and more has broken off. Now when I pull my foreskin down it pulls WAY passed the head as if I'm circumcised. Is this normal? I'm hoping it has something to do with puberty- I'm 17 and am already 75% developed. Please help, is it okay to have sex in this state? Everything with my foreskin is DETACHED only thing holding it to my penis is the frenulum. Thanks,DBThere is no blood no nothing..It's like everyday more and more detaches itself.

FORESKIN FALLING APART?!?!?

It's actually supposed to be detached from the head as you reach puberty. Please look at the pictures in the Male Anatomy thread.

Welcome to A2A, db120! As sdp said, it does seem normal. At birth the foreskin is attached to the glans, but at some stage it should detach, so that it is only attached by the frenulum and the contiguity of the skin. For you it seems to have been later than usual, but better late than never.Sex should be fine. If you are not using a condom (not recommended) you will probably find the foreskin moves up and down during thrusts. If you are using a condom it is most common to retract the foreskin before putting it on.Now that it is retractable you will need to wash in there, but that shouldn't be difficult.

Let me give you guys a better picture. Here's a diagram of penile retraction:http://net.indra.com/~shredder/intact/anatomy/intact.jpgMy penis has always been the bottom left, never pulling PAST the head. Now it is detaching allowing to pull past the ridge of the penis like a circumcised one. (Bottom right picture).I have always been able to pull the foreskin back past the head when my penis is flaccid and an erection which is why I confused why this is happening now. I thought my penis was NORMAL the way it was, I didn't know it was supposed to retract past the ridge like a cut penis.

Ah, in that case it sounds like you just had some residual adhesions around the ridge that are now detaching. It's all good.

All of it has detached except for one tiny piece of skin on the bottom left of my penis connecting to the foreskin. I'm assuming that it will detach itself soon because it has been detaching bit by bit the last few weeks.

just to add reassurance, bottom right picture looks normal for a fully retracted yet intact foreskin.I've been with a few women who didn't even notice I wasn't circumscribed at first because they only saw me fully erect with the skin retracted (though I believe they weren't paying the closest of attention)take care
